ZAXB (잭스비) is a seven-member boy group under HYPE. They debut on April 17, 2017 with their digital single "POW!". The group consists of Leesung, Jae, Jake, Sungho, Sunoo, Jungwon and NI-KI.
History[]
2015-2016: Pre-debut[]
On March 3, 2015, HYPE revealed its new lineup for its trainee program HYPEROOKIES consisting of seven unnamed trainees (known in the trainee program as HYR15M), this led to fans speculating about HYPE launching a new boy group. On August 20, HYPE launched socials for the trainee group under the name HB (short for HYPE Boys).
On September 10, HB posted a dance cover of V.L.I.X.'s "Over" they continued to post dance/vocal cover of former HYPE artists every now and then including a vocal cover of OPO's "Rain (비가)", Leesung and Jae did a cover of Black Dice's "또 다른 나" and a dance cover of TCXQ?'s "Magical".
On January 1, 2016, HYPE trademarked the name "ZAXB".
On January 10, HYPE changed the name of the trainees socials to the name ZAXB confirming that HYPE's new boy group would be called ZAXB, fans were excited and the accounts due to this being HYPE's newest boy group since V.L.I.X. eleven year prior and the accounts soared to over one million followers within 24-hours of the name change.
HYPE revealed all seven of the members over the course of a couple months and ZAXB made a surprise performance at the agencies end of year concert performing covers and ending with a teaser for the groups debut.
2017: Debut with "POW!", "ROH (Raise Our Hands)"[]
The group made their debut on March 1, 2017 with the digital single "POW!".
ZAXB made their first comeback on June 12 with the digital single "ROH (Raise Our Hands)".
2018: RED, "고리 (Loop)"[]
On March 3, 2018, the group shared a logo motion trailer for their first mini album RED, which was released on April 8.
On July 16, the group released their third digital single "고리 (Loop)".
2019-2020: Hiatus[]
2021: Japanese debut "Corruption : 本当の愛", ZAXB S+S debut, MANIFEST : Day 1[]
On January 11, 2021, it was announced that the group would make their Japanese debut with "Corruption: 本当の愛". The Japanese single, which was released on February 19, contains the Japanese versions of "POW!" and "ROH (Raise Our Hands)" as well as a new Japanese song.
On May 10, it was announced that Sunoo and Sungho would be debuting in the groups first sub-unit called ZAXB S+S with their digital single "Fragrance", which was released on May 22.
On September 21, the group shared a logo motion trailer for their second mini album MANIFEST : Day 1, which was released on October 17.
2022: MANIFEST : Day 2, Chinese debut "花 (White Blossom)", Death of Roses[]
On February 12, 2022, it was reported that ZAXB will be coming back in May and are currently preparing for their new album. HYPE confirmed the news on April 4. On April 22, shared a logo motion trailer for their third mini album MANIFEST : Day 2, set to be released on May 18.
On August 19, ZAXB released their debut Chinese digital single "花 (White Blossom)".
On November 21, the group shared a logo motion trailer for their fourth mini album Death of Roses, which was released on December 20.
2023: MANIFEST : 愛, First world tour[]
On April 12, 2023, the group shared a logo motion trailer for their first studio album MANIFEST : 愛, which was released on May 11.
On June 28, HYPE announced that ZAXB would be going on their first world tour, ZAXB World Tour 'Love'.
2024: Fake Blood,[]
On February 1, 2024, the group shared a teaser image for their fifth mini album Fake Blood, which is set to release on February 11.
