Z-BOYS (지보이즈), also known as Z-BOYS: The New Zeneration, is a survival reality show created by Senai Records and broadcast via the STBC channel. The survival show was created to debut Senai Records' upcoming boy group out of 50 trainees, whom were sorted into five groups: Zeneration A, Zeneration B, Zeneration C, Zeneration J, and Zeneration G.
Kim Seunghan, the CEO, acts as the main judge of this program assisted by staff and producers. The show is hosted by Murayama Kanon and airs every Friday at 21:00 on March 31st until June 5th, 2023. The winning team of the show will debut under the namee ZENIX.
Background and concepts[]
Z-BOYS is the first ever reality survival show program that Senai Records has conducted to select their trainees to form new male idols. Kim Seunghan stated that the groups produced through this program will take into account the beauty aspects of the participants in addition to aspects of music, dance and songwriting abilities. Considering the practice of launching an odd number of male idols, Seunghan plans to form a group with 5 members, although he stated that the number of members will be adjusted throughout the program.
The survival show will consist of 50 contestants and will form five different teams.

Episode 1[]
The show started with introducing all of the contestants, starting with Baek Jeong Min, the first membes of Zeneration A, and ended up with former REVICE members Byungwol, Rayyan and Masumi. The three were offered to join the agency and join the remaining 47 other contestants and be separated into the different teams. They will choose the most active participant, the best dancer, the best rapper, the best vocalist and the best visual member from each group and challenge them to compete against each other.
Episode 2[]
During the event, not all of the participants' appearances were shown. From the visual group, Kim Seunghan announced that Ha Dong Hyun would sing "Limbo" by SEVENTEEN's Jun against Kim Hyeon Dong, who will sing "Grey Suit" by EXO's Suho. From the visual group, Kim Seunghan announced that Surya Pratap Singh would dance to "River" by Bishop Briggs against Kang Gyu Rae, who will dance to "Grey Suit" by EXO's Suho.
From the rap group, Kim Seunghan showed Kamakari Isamu with his rap skills with the song "My Name Is What?" by Eminem against Juan Gonzales with "Hotel Room" by Pitbull, and also they made a diss challenge that was made against each other. And lastly from the vocal group, Kim Seunghan showed Ji Byung Wol singing "Sparkle Sparkle" by Ni.U against Kim Sung Gyeom, who sang "If You Come Back" by Blue, the performance of both were commented as being great and commented on their improved vocals. Some of the contestants were not shown.
At the end of the episode, the ranking of the participants from the evaluation results was announced, while ten contestants would be eliminated. Ji Byung Wol, Ha Dong Hyun, Yoon Jae San, Handou Ren, and Kito Masumi placed first within their respective teams, while Jeon Won Shik, Park Cheol Hahn, Lee Ji Woong, Kosugi Eiji, and Niran Winchannamut placed 8th within their teams.

Episode 3[]
The process of selecting debut team members for the first time begins with a selection system; the three best participants from each group will be selected to enter the debut team. Each participant with the highest ranking in the previous evaluation will become the leader for their team and has the right to determine the songs and distribution of singing parts for each member of the group.
For Zeneration G, Bayu was selected as the team leader and performed SOLVIZ's "Fever". The judges praised all of them good and chose Masumi, Rayyan, and Bayu as the best contestants for the teams. While in Zeneration J, Isamu was selected as the team leader of the group and they performed Treasure's "Boy". Isamu would mix the song to include the song "Jikjin". In the end, Hayao, Maki and Ren were selected as the best contestants.
Yoon Jae San as the participant with the first rank became the leader for Zeneration C, during a meeting with 1SIREN as the coach he had difficulty performing the chosen song together with the other members. Their final performance was perfect, the judges praised the team performance of "Catch Me" from TVXQ as something new for the monthly evaluation at Senai. In the end he chose Jaesan, Gyurae and Siyang as the best participants from this team.
Zeneration B performed "DNA" by BTS and they revealed Hansol as the leader of the team hut, sadly he received a harsg criticism for the performance. In the end, Donghyun, Hyundong and Doyoung were selected as the best contestants for Zeneration B. And lastly Zeneration A performing "Again and Again" from 2PM and Sunggyeom lead the team. In the end, only Byungwol, Jeongmin and Jaemin were selected as the best contestants form that team.

The debut team selection continues, from the 15 best participants from each team, 9 more people will be selected to be part of ZENIX 9. Kim Seunghan and the jury team have chosen 6 names who will immediately enter the team, namely Byungwol, Donghyun, Hyundong, Hayao, Bayu and Rayyan. The remaining three will be selected from the remaining 6 people after they have made additional appearances as a team.
The other 9 contestants would give 75 minutes to prepare for their additional appearance. Due to language barriers, references, and vocal range they took half their time to finally decide to perform "Fiend" by 6topia. In the end, Kim Seunghan officially chose Jaemin, Jeongmin and Gyurae as the parts of ZENIX 9.

The next challenge is a 1:1:1 battle to win the ZENIX 9 position. As the party being challenged, the ZENIX 9 members have the right to determine what song will be sung to be performed as a duet with their challenger. After the performance, the ZENIX 9 members will vote on a Hopper Card or a Mantis Card to decide whether executive producer Kim Seunghan or 125 viewers will determine who is the best of the trio.
To choose who will have the right to fight against the ZENIX members, non-ZENIX participants will record a video to show their talents, talent, charisma and brand charm. Then 9SERAPHIM will determine 18 participants who they think are worthy of advancing to challenge the ZENIX 9 members, the rest would soon to be eliminated.
In the 1:1:1 live show, "Boys Never Die" was introduced as the theme song for YG Treasure Box and ZENIX 9 performed it at the opening of the live show. In this episode, 9SERAPHIM appointed Surya Pratap Singh and Kim Sung Gyeom as the challenger, she chose to challenge Ha Dong Hyun and showed an extraordinary performance. Donghyun chooses the Mantis Card, the result will be determined by 100 Treasure Makers and one of two challengers succeeds in taking Donghyun's position.
Episode 5[]
Following the previous episode, Wellington Philips and Jung Do Young later had a deal with Bang Jae Min and ended up with Jaemin still remains as ZENIX 9. Next, 9SERAPHIM addmited that Jaesan and Isamu choose Bayu for the challenge with a dance battle and later Jaesan won the chaenge by taking Bayu's position as ZENIX 9.
Juan Gonzales and Park Cheol Hahn decided to challenge Kim Hyeon Dong for the rap battle and later Juan ended up won for taking Hyundong's position. Kito Masumi and Park Si Yang became the fifth challengers against Ji Byung Wol by preparing for a vocal battle and ended up with Masumi join as ZENIX 9 members.
The sixth challengers was Han Da Hyeon and Chou Liang Yu who challenged Jeongmin to a rap battle but unfortunately this performance was not shown in full, however Jeongmin managed to maintain his position. Seventh challengers, Jun Doyoung and Hayama Yudai to challenge Hayao Kudo. Althought the performance was perfect, Hayao would later remains his position.
Episode 6[]
The second last challengers Kaneda Masahiro and Kihara Syuji decided to challenge with Rayyan and ended up with Masahiro won taking Rayyan's spot. And lastly, the final challengers chosen by 9SERAPHIM was Nam Hyuk Sang and Hong Chae Eun who decided to challenge Gyurae and ended with Gyurae winning.
The results of this round formed a new formation for ZENIX 9.

At the moment, Kim Seubghan will later reorganized the team from nine to ten members, and he officially choose Byungwol to join due to his vocal skills are improved and ckmpleted his secret mission as ZENIX members.

After the ZENIX 10 formation was formed, the non-ZENIX participants were asked to form units using a popularity test. And also, they announced that they would bring back the three chosen eliminated contestants. Murayama Kanon will draw names of participants to come forward and ask them to turn their backs to the other participants, if there are participants who want to form a team with the drawn participants they are invited to come forward and stand behind that participant. If more than one person advances, the lottery participant has the right to choose with whom he or she will form the unit.

Episode 7[]
As with 1:1:1 battles, the opportunity to face 2:2 with Treasure units will also only be given to 3 challenger units. In order to be selected, each unit was asked to record a video to show their talents, talents, charisma and charm. This time Chase Jang will determine which units will advance as challengers and choose 10 different units.
The four units that are not selected by Chase Jang will face a 1:1 battle with their unit mates, performing the song they chose together during previous preparations, the participant who is considered better by the judging team will survive and their unit mates will be eliminated. Firstly, duet from Doyoung and Ren performed "B-Day" from iKON, and ended with both of them are eliminated. Second, Nam Hyukdang and Juan perform the rap battle and ended with Nam Hyuk Sang won the deal. The other mates are still not showed yet, with 1 mate and 2 contestants from different units are safe, to be advanced to the next round.
ZENIX 10 opened the live show this time with "Boys Never Die" and followed it up with a 2:2 unit battle. After the duel, the ZENIX 10 unit will choose a Hopper Card or a Mantis Card which determines whether the outcome of their show will be determined by the Executive Producer or the 100 online Zen Viewers who follow the ZENIX account on Realmu.

1 vs 1 battle were returned, this time only the 24 non-ZENIX members participant for this battle by claiming for the next round, with 14 contestants sooner would be eliminated.
After the elimination round, ZENIX 10 was reorganized to become ZENIX 5. The member from the unit with the Bottom 5 on the previous show had to leave the debut team which unexpectedly was Jeongmin, Siyang, Masumi, Hansol and Jaesan.

The show immediately opened with "Boys Never Die" performed by ZENIX 5. This round was a team battle, 20 participants were divided into 4 teams of 5 people each. This performance will be judged directly by the Zen-Viewers who is present in the studio. The team with the highest points will be able to take all members to the final round, the second and third team will be selected by four people, and the last team can only be selected by three people.

When the announcement took place, all viewers were asked to leave the studio. Kim Seunghan and the coaches announced the 18 names who will enter the final round. He also announced that the number of members he would debut was 5 people as he mentioned at the beginning of the event.

The theme for the final round is genre, each member will choose the genre they want to perform between rap, vocal and dance. The highest vote getters from each genre will enter the debut team, the votes are taken from 50% of the Executive Producer's assessment, 20% online pre-vote, 30% from the Treasure Maker present in the studio. In addition, the highest scorers among all participants, apart from those announced to debut, will also be included in the debut team.

Kim Seunghan and the coaches announced the five names who would enter the debut team based on the assessment of each genre and the highest score in addition to the four best participants in each genres, including the visual position, with Sunggyeom, Byungwol, Isamu, Gyurae and Masumi won the spot for make to the final lineup by each positions.

Later the moment, the debut group were later reorganized from five members to twelve members and later named the group with ZENIX, with Kim Seunghan officially decided to add seven more members to be join the remaining five members to the final lineup, while for the last member will be determined as center of the final group.
First, Kim Seunghan chose Ha Dong Hyun as sixth member, Hayao as seventh member, Hansol with eighth member, Syuji for ninth member, Yudai as tenth member and Jaesan with eleventh members. For the last member for the debut group, only Rayyan and Bayu would advanced for a second chance would be determinated for decided between the two candidates, and ended with Rayyan were selected as the last member to be announced as the center and final member of the debut group.

- The winning 12 contestants later made into the final lineup with the group named ZENIX and scheduled to be debut on August 28, 2023 with the single album.

- Some of the trainees are still remains in Senai Records.
- Four trainees Bayu, Jaemin, Jeongmin and Domin confirmed that they would debut as BRSN members, and expected to be debut on the third quarter of 2024.
- By representing the agency, three trainees Hong Chae Eun, Jeon Won Shik and Park Si Yang would later participated in the large-scale boy group survival show Find Your DREAM.
