Yoon Jihan is the Featured Idol of May 2023

Yoon Jihan (윤지한) is a South Korean singer signed under J-Music. He is best known as a former member of project boy band QUANTUM, formed through Search The Cosmos. He is currently a member of band The Last Children of Presagia.

Early life[]

Yoon Ji-han was born on May 21, 1997, in Seogwipo, Jeju Island, South Korea. His mother is Yoon Gu-reum, a former member of vocal girl group D.Y.E, while his father, Yoon Yo-han, is an orchestra conductor working at a music academy in Seoul.
In middle school, Jihan expressed his desire to attend a dance academy after seeing a complicated cheerdance routine at a football match.
In 2011, he entered the entertainment industry for the first time as a member of children's co-ed group R.D.U, which was a one-time project by a toy retailer with earnings donated to an organization assisting children with disabilities and cancer patients.
Jihan trained under TDR Dance Academy for 8 months in contemporary and hip hop dance when he was 13-15 years old, before dropping out after sustaining an injury.
When he was 17, he began working as a backup dancer in Korea and Japan, being in the backdrop of performances by idol groups and soloists such as Finekiz, Du-WOAH, and SeoulDolls. In 2017, he made his acting debut with the drama School 2017 as a supporting character.

Career[]

2018-2020[]

On March 22, 2018, he debuted in the Lava Flow Records-managed six-member boy group NTUJ. It is assumed the group had quietly disbanded pre-debut after three members suddenly opened individual Instagram accounts.
In the beginning of 2019, it was assumed that Jihan had left the entertainment industry and enlisted in the South Korean army to complete his 2-year mandatory military service. He was discharged early sometime in 2020 due to the military's attempts to lessen the spread of COVID-19 within their units.
On November 18, 2020, Jihan independently released his debut single album Sadistic on streaming platforms. The single album featured lead single of the same name, and a live recording of an old song he wrote titled "Enabler" as the B-side. He was able to promote his song on cable music shows such as SBS MTV's The Show , MBC's Show Champion, and Mnet's M Countdown for two weeks, after successfully securing a slot in these programs.

2022[]

In the first half of 2022, Jihan participated in reality survival show Search The Cosmos, representing Bedlam Entertainment. He received a grade of A+ on the first evaluation, and was later re-evaluated to S, the highest grade. He also gained attention for his good visuals and professional leadership skills. He finished 5th place and debuted as a member of QUANTUM.
In June 2022, it was reported by several media sources that Jihan had signed an exclusive artist contract with Heaven's Entertainment when QUANTUM's contract ends, but it never materialized.
On April 18, 2023, Jihan released his debut studio album Heartborne, which featured a post-apocalyptic concept inspired by zombie films and shows such as The Walking Dead and World War Z.

2024-present[]

On June 1, 2024, he officially debuted as a member of the band The Last Children of Presagia under J-Music.
