XYG (엑스와이지) is a five-member multinational boy group under TSTAR Entertainment. Consisting of U-WIN, Venn, Mingxi, X-AV, and RENNY, the group made their debut on April 18, 2024, with the mini album Green Box.
The name is an acronym for XY Gene.
History[]
Pre-debut[]
On January 13, a road map was posted on Highline Media's social accounts, which revealed that TSTAR Entertainment was to debut their five-member boy group in April. The next day, ANSHINGYU trainee So Bongwan was announced to have moved to TSTAR Entertainment for their new boy group.
On January 30, TSTAR Entertainment announced that the group name would officially be XYG.
On February 25, Mingxi and X-AV were reported to be debuting with XYG. Sometime later, Venn was announced as a new member.
On March 30, RENNY was announced as the final member of XYG.
2024: Debut with Green Box, Red Box[]
On April 10, TSTAR Entertainment announced that the group will make their debut on April 18 with the mini album Green Box.
On August 16, teasers revealed that the group will make their first comeback on August 23 with the mini album Red Box.
2025-present: "Purple Box"[]
Sometime in January, it was reported that XYG had finished preparing for their upcoming comeback. Later, TSTAR Entertainment confirmed the reports, revealing that the group will release a new single in February. On February 9, the group announced their first single album "Purple Box" set to be released on February 18.
