WYVERN (와이번, ワイバーン) is a 7 member South Korean boy group formed by Blair Entertainment. They debuted on January 17, 2019 with their mini album Mythology: The Book of Dragons Part 1.

Their name comes from the mythological creature that is seen and depicted in the Middle Ages.

2018: Announcement and Teasers[]

On October 18, it was announced by Blair Entertainment that they would be debuting their next boy group at the beginning of next year. Teasers for the members will be posted along with the album in December

On November 30, the groups name WYVERN was revealed along with the title of their debut album as well.

On December 1, Hongseok was revealed as the first member.

On December 2, Jiwoong was revealed as the second member,

On December 3, Han was revealed as the third member,

On December 4, Byeol was revealed as the fourth member.

On December 5, Haebum was revealed as the fifth member.

On December 6, Woohyun was revealed as the sixth member.

On December 7, Minyoung was revealed as the seventh and last member.

2019: Debut with 'Mythology: The Book of Dragons Part 1', comeback with 'Part 2' and 'Part 3'.[]

On January 17, the group debuted with their mini album Mythology: The Book of Dragons Part 1. The album was met with positive success, with critics saying that the groups debuting sound was an interesting change that was met with positive response internationally and in Korea alike. The album sold a total of 115,000 copies during its run, and was noted as one of the highest selling debut albums that year. The track "Unreal Dragon" served as the groups title track.

On June 6, it was announced that the group would be having their comeback in July. Teasers for the comeback were revealed from June 18 to June 29.

On July 1, the group released their second mini album Mythology: The Book of Dragons Part 2. The album was once again met with positive responses, with the album itself selling 180,000. The track "Marionette" served as the albums title track. It had blown up over the course of promotions due to the groups intense choreography in which it includes death drops from members Lee Han and Park Jiwoong. The group won 4 music shows during their run of the album.

On November 6, it was announced that the group would be having their comeback in December. Teasers for the comeback were revealed from November 10 to November 19.

On November 30, the group released their third mini album Mythology: The Book of Dragons Part 3. The album saw an increase in sales compared to the last single, with the album selling over 250,000 copies during its initial run. The track 'Oh Little Boy' served as the title track. The group won 2 music shows during the run of the album.

2020: Fandom name, comeback with 'The Lying Prince', and 'CYBERDRAGON'[]

On January 17, their first concert WYVERN 1st Anniversary Concert. Also during the concert the group revealed their fandom name 'Fern', it was chosen after a running gag of the group name from fans.

On April 29, it was announced that the group would be having their comeback in May. Teasers for the comeback were revealed from April 30 to May 10.

On May 20, the group released their fourth mini album The Lying Prince. The album was met with great feedback, selling twice the amount compared to their previous album with a total of 560,000 copies sold during its initial promotional run. The track 'Answer' served as the title track and with it they won 5 music show wins, the most the group at that point in time.

On September 6, the group held their second concert WYVERN 2020 Online Concert -The Dragons Nest-.

On September 27, it was announced that the group would be having their comeback in October with their first studio album. Teasers for the comeback were revealed from October 1 to October 13.

On October 26, the group released their first studio album CYBERDRAGON.

2021: Comeback with 'Dragon Prince', 'Cyclone', 'Lily of the Valley', and Japanese Debut[]

On January 17, the group held their second anniversary concert WYVERN 2nd Anniversary Concert. It was also here that they revealed that they will be having their Japanese debut in July.

On February 25, it was announced that the group would be having their comeback in March. Teasers for the comeback were revealed from March 1 to March 15.

On March 28, the group released their fifth mini album Dragon Prince was released.

On July 18, the group released their first Japanese single Unreal Dragon (Japanese Version) was released.

On July 30, it was announced that the group would be having their comeback in August. Teasers for the comeback were revealed from August 2 to August 18.

On August 23, the groups sixth mini album Cyclone was released.

On October 15, it was announced that the group would be having their comeback in November. Teasers for the comeback were revealed from October 21 to November 2.

On November 16, the groups seventh mini album Lily of the Valley was released.

2022: Comeback with 'The Dragon Lair', 'Corrupting Heart', First World Tour[]

On January 17, the group held their third anniversary concert WYVERN 3rd Anniversary Concert.

On February 1, it was announced that the group would be having their comeback in March. Teasers for the comeback were revealed from February 17 to February 28.

On March 1, the group released their second studio album The Dragon Lair.

From April 6 to August 20, the group held their first world tour WYVERN 2022 World Tour -Into The Dragon's Lair-.

On June 16, the group released their second Japanese single Feel Alive.

On September 7, it was announced that the group would be having their comeback in October. Teasers for the comeback were revealed from September 17 to September 28.

On October 7, the group released their eighth mini album Corrupting Heart.

On November 18, it was announced that the group would be having their comeback in January ahead of their 4th anniversary concert. Teasers for the comeback were revealed from December 14 to December 24.

2023: 'The Great Knight and the Dragon's Brood Part 1 and Part 2'[]

On January 5, the group released their ninth mini album The Great Knight and the Dragon's Brood Part 1.

On January 17, the group held their fourth anniversary concert WYVERN 4th Anniversary Concert.

On May 20, the group held the concert The Great Dragon in Seoul: Into The Dragon's Nest.

On May 31, it was announced that the group would be having their comeback in June. Teasers for the comeback were revealed from June 1 to June 13.

On June 4, the group released their third Japanese single Sweet Lemon.

On June 22, the group released their tenth mini album The Great Knight and the Dragon's Brood Part 2.

From September 16 to December 17, the group held their second world tour WYVERN 2023 World Tour -The Dragon's Call-.

On September 18, it was announced that they along with AEON would be partcipating in MyMusicTaste’s ‘Korea On Stage in London’ on November 8.

On September 18, it was also announced that they along with AEON would be participating as acts for AAA's 2023 Awards.

On September 23, it was announced that WYVERN would be attending the '2023 KBS Global Festival' on December 9.

On October 7, the group held the concert The Great Dragon in Seoul: The Great Knight.

On November 2, it was announced during Blair Entertainment's 2024 Strategy meeting, that the group would be having their third studio comeback in January along with their fifth anniversary concert.

On November 20, it was announced that WYVERN along with AEON would be participating in the 2023 SBS Gayo Daejeon as part of its 2nd line up.

2024: Year of WYVERN, creation of WYVERN Rookies[]

On January 17, during the groups 5th anniversary concert it was announced that they would be creating a trainee unit called WYVERN Rookies, which will feature Blair Boys trainees that will be the groups official back up members, where they will appear in music videos, concerts etc. Along with this, it will be a way for the company to test and review prospective trainees who might be able to debut into future groups.

On April 21, it was confirmed that the group will be having their first comeback in 11 months with their third studio album set for May 13.

  • Hongseok, Jiwoong, Byeol, and Haebum were all pre-debut members for their older brother group EMERGE and were trained with them from the earliest year being 2012, but unfortunately all of them were cut from the final line-up.
    • Blair Entertainment's CEO Bae Jungyeol all told them that they were locked in for debut in the future, and that the group would be revolved around them and their skills.
  • Hongseok revealed that when they were assigned their group concept they all cried when they were told that they'd be dragons.
