2005-2006: Debut[]
On October 3, 2005, WARRIOR debuted with the single "Warrior (전사)", which combined a historical Korean concept with an electronic dance song. The group held their first ever music show performance on the April 9, 2005 episode of The Music Rank.
On April 4, 2006, WARRIOR released their first studio album Blood Type-A Boy, featuring the lead single "Super Duper Girl". The song eventually became the group's signature songs, becoming their most commercially successful single and earning them multiple music show first-place trophies. The title track "Blood Type-A Boy" was released as the second single from the album and promoted throughout the summer.
On March 12, 2007, WARRIOR released their first extended play (EP) 1950s Rockstar, featuring an Elvis Presley and Buddy Holly inspired rock and roll concept. The lead single, "Carnage Love", underperformed in comparison to their previous releases, but was still widely popular among fans. The group held their first fan concert in Seoul in June 2007. In August 2007, Magic Entertainment announced that Doh Sunghoon had withdrawn from the group as he decided to pursue a career as an actor. The comeback was the group's most mature and provocative concept, with the music video being banned for public broadcast. In July 2008, it was announced that member Bong Jung-hyun had been kicked out of the group after being charged by the South Korean police for a severe drunk driving incident that injured a pedestrian. In August, they introduced a new member named Jeon Tae-wan as a replacement for the group's two previous member departures. On November 3, 2008, WARRIOR released their first single album Chivalry, supported by the A-side track "I Don't Like Your Boyfriend". The album became their most infamous comeback, after three members were caught arguing backstage.
In February 2009, WARRIOR had their Japan debut with the single "Paradaisu No Mahō No Niwa". The group held a two-day concert in Tokyo, Japan as part of their promotions. On June 1, 2009, WARRIOR released their third studio album All About Me, featuring the lead single "Me, Myself, & I"; the song earned the group their first ever music show trophy after it ranked 1st place on M Countdown. The group's first ever international tour took place on the second half of the year, which included dates in 7 Asian countries and 2 in the United States. In November 2009, it was announced that Kang Dong-jae had decided to withdraw from the group and retire from the entertainment industry.
In February 2010, Chris Park was removed from the group after he was charged by the Seoul Metropolitan Police for being involved in a brawl that took place in Itaewon. On May 25, 2010, the group released their second single album Castle, featuring the A-side single "Winner Winner". In October 2010, it was announced that Choi Soonyoung will be enlisting in the military in November to complete his mandatory military service.
On April 18, 2011, WARRIOR returned as a four-member lineup with the third extended play (EP) Eastern Realm with the lead single "Samurai". "Samurai" was their most commercially successful comeback, becoming their first top 50 entry on the Gaon Digital Chart and their first release to earn 3 music show trophies. On July 4, 2011, WARRIOR released their third single album Vampiric, featuring the A-side single "Horrible". In September, it was revealed that Mike Jung, Ahn Jin-young, and Jeon Tae-wan have all decided to enlist in the military, thus putting the group on a hiatus as they complete their military service.
2013-2014: Return as a five-member group, disbandment[]
On November 18, 2013, WARRIOR returned as a five-member group with the single album The Best Knight, with the winter-themed power ballad single "Run Away". On January 4, 2014, it was announced that all members except Alex Hwang had decided not to renew their contracts, resulting in WARRIOR's disbandment. In a press interview in 2016, former member Mike Jung announced that the group intends to reunite in the near future, but nothing has been materialized as of 2024.
Aftermath[]
Alex Hwang married former Bee-Gals member Lee Jisoo and has since been working as a television personality and model. Mike Jung is currently an actor under BEDLAM Entertainment; he had his domestic breakout in MBS' 2014 drama Through Thick Drains.
Doh Sung-hoon married a local politician in 2015, and has since been active in politics but has been criticized by netizens for his stance on several political issues and involvement in a corruption scandal that rocked a town in Jeonbuk Province.
