Tsuki (Korean: 츠키; Japanese: つき) is a Japanese trainee under YR Entertainment.
History[]
Early life[]
Tsuki was born Okada Natsuki on December 2, 2007, in Osaka, Japan. His mother is a preschool teacher, and his father is a surgeon. Tsuki has one younger sister, Mayu. Growing up surrounded by a loving family, Tsuki always had the support he needed, which often inspired him to pursue what he was interested in.
Tsuki grew up curious, constantly finding new interests and hobbies. Some interests he had that never stuck included football, drawing, and cooking. However, the one interest that did stick was music. With his sister also interested in music, Tsuki was in luck. Alongside each other, Tsuki and his sister would sing and dance to popular Japanese songs whenever they got the opportunity. By age 9, Tsuki discovered K-pop, and he quickly fell in love. The first group he ended up liking was the 2015 boy group ICARUS, and he would later become a fan of Khaos, particularly their member Yuuri.
Tsuki's love for K-pop and music in general led him to audition for a multitude of K-pop companies. Having quite a lot of natural talent, Tsuki expected to make it through auditions with flying colors. However, he seemed not to have the "star power" many companies wanted. Though the rejections hurt his pride, Tsuki was still determined to become an idol, and eventually, at age 12, he passed an audition for HIEX Creative. Upon passing his audition, Tsuki was elated—but his parents, not so much. They were worried about his future, as becoming a trainee would offer him no job security. But understanding that it's his dream, they agreed and allowed Tsuki to move to Seoul, where he became a trainee.
Trainee life[]
Moving to South Korea was no difficulty for Tsuki. He had already started learning Korean and studying the culture ever since he decided he wanted to be an idol, which gave him a good head start as a foreign trainee. He moved to South Korea on December 27, 2019, and he wouldn’t regret it. Many people describe their trainee days as “grueling” or “unpleasant,” but Tsuki isn’t the type to complain. He knew from the beginning that training wouldn’t be a walk in the park, so he made sure to prepare himself both mentally and physically.
Tsuki’s determination and hard work quickly made him stand out as a golden trainee. Trainers and company staff often praised him for his self-discipline, maturity, and how fast he picked things up. Tsuki always played into the company’s fondness for him and never voiced any complaints. Still, determination could only take him so far—after a year, he started to feel mentally drained.
Doing anything professionally isn’t easy, but doing something professionally as a 13-year-old boy is sure to cause some damage, and Tsuki understands that firsthand. His first year of training was amazing, but he soon began doubting himself, which would cause him to overthink every little thing. Whether it was his dancing, his singing, or just the way he carried himself, Tsuki started second-guessing it all. He began comparing himself to the other trainees—most of whom were older and more experienced—and slowly, that spark he once had started to dim.
However, with the help of others, he quickly found himself back on track. Whether it was words of encouragement from a trainer or a simple hug from a friend, Tsuki slowly began to find his confidence again. Before long, he was improving faster than ever. His singing became one of his strongest points, his dancing was clean and expressive, and even his stage presence started to shine. It wasn’t long until people began calling him an "ace"—something he never thought he’d hear when he first started.

Personal life[]
Personality[]
Tsuki is a person with a lot of determination. Once he truly wants something, he will refuse to stop until he has it. He’s a focused and driven person, and is always pushing himself to be a better version of himself. If he has to, Tsuki will practice late into the night or repeat the same dance move over and over until it’s perfect; he doesn’t believe in giving up. He’s a person who takes his goals seriously, and his strong work ethic is often praised by those around him. However, that same determination can also be a double-edged sword. Tsuki sometimes gets so caught up in chasing his dream that he forgets to slow down and take care of the people around him, or even himself.
When Tsuki is has a goal, everything else in his life starts to fade into the background. Friendships, breaks, and even his feelings seem not to matter. It's not that he doesn’t care, however, he has a hard time finding balance. There are times when people around him feel left out or worry about him, but Tsuki brushes it off, thinking it’s just part of the process. He’s also not great at asking for help, choosing to deal with things on his own, even when he’s overwhelmed. All of this combined can make Tsuki seem quite selfish, and being honest, he is quite selfish, as he always puts his goal of being an idol before anything.
At the end of the day, Tsuki is someone who loves what he does with his whole heart. He’s passionate, hardworking, and full of ambition. He may be a little selfish, however he's still learning how to balance his dream with the rest of his life. Beneath the focus and intensity is a young boy who just wants to achieve what he's been working for his whole life.
Education[]
Tsuki graduated from Osaka Shiritsu Ōhiraki Elementary School at age 11. He attended Osaka Seikō Gakuin Junior & Senior High School for 1 year up until he moved to South Korea at age 12.
