Star10 is a ten-member girl group under Bee Entertainment. They debuted on February 1st, 2021 with the mini-album COMET.

History[]
2013 - 2021: Predebut, Formation[]
Son Minseo joined Bee Entertainment in 2013 as a part of the SPARKLE BEES. Yamaoka Fumi soon followed, joining in the same year as a part of the SAKURA BEES from a Japanese audition. Praepailin Charoenkul, Huang Bao, Akela Kaleo, and Jaide Annabelle Sangco Santillan joined in 2016 as the SHINING BEES from an international audition. Oh Hanbi joined the company in 2017 as part of the STAR BEES. In 2018, Bae Kyulseong joined as part of the STYLE BEES. Choi Dayoon and Lee Suhyeong joined in 2019 as part of the SWEET BEES.
Jo Bisung decided to debut another girl group after the success of rm8z. The first test group for the girl group was put together in 2020 and consisted of Bao, Fumi, Minseo, Dayoon, Jaide, and Hanbi. In autumn, Praepailin, Akela, Suhyeong, and Kyulseong were added.
At Bee Entertainment’s year end press conference event, the group was confirmed and the name was revealed as Star10 to the public.
From January 1st to 10th, 2021, the members were revealed. Lin (Praepailin), Bao, Fumi, Minseo, Dayoon, Akela, Anabelle (Jaide), Suhyeong, Yanhwa (Hanbi), and Byulseong (Kyulseong) were revealed with their profiles.
2021: Debut, COMET, Galactic Expedition[]
Star10 made their debut on February 1st, 2021, with the mini-album COMET and the title track “외계 소녀 (Unhappy Planet)”. Star10’s debut sound fit with the girl crush side of the industry, separating the group from Snowflake’s more elegant sound. Star10 held their debut showcase on the same day at Blue Square Mastercard Hall.
Star10 received their first win on February 5th on KTB Music Show. This was followed by a win on Smile Groove Music Show on February 5th, K-Super Music Show on February 6th, and TOP ICON on February 8th. The group was recognized by critics for their strong debut.
Star10 were guests on Resident Idol on February 12th.
On June 18th, Star10 had their first comeback with the mini-album Galactic Expedition and the title track “미친 Magic (Crazy Magic)”.
“미친 Magic (Crazy Magic)” did not receive any music show wins, but placed 2nd on TOP ICON on June 21st. The song was received well, but the group was not able to compete against the other artists promoting at the time.
Star10 performed on July 12th and 13th at SGA Summer Blast Festival 2021 during the rookie stages.
Star10 held their first official concert Star10 GALAXY Concert 2021 on December 14th at KSPO Dome. There were 8000 people in attendance in person and 10000 watching through the concert livestream.
At the Shining Groove Awards, Star10 won the female Best Rookie Group award. At the Seoul Music Performance Awards, Star10 was nominated for the Best New Female Group award and the Rookie Song of the Year award for “외계 소녀 (Unhappy Planet)”.
2022: Moonlight Darling, SOLEIL[]
Star10 released a single album on January 15th, 2022, called Moonlight Darling with the title track of the same name.
“Moonlight Darling” received a music show win on January 16th on Hallyumak. With the comeback only receiving one win despite Star10’s rookie of the year award, netizens began speculating on why Star10 was losing popularity compared to other groups who debuted in the same year. Star10 was faced with harsh comparison against rm8z for how the groups differed in their popularity trajectory at the time of their second comeback.
Star10 performed at SGA Summer Blast Festival 2022 on July 11th and 12th.
On August 12th, Star10 released the extended play SOLEIL with the title track “CHAIN”. This comeback was a return to Star10’s angsty girl crush sound.
The comeback did not receive any music show wins. “CHAIN” fell away from the charts as casual listeners ignored it in favour of more popular songs. Star10 gained some online virality for their “flop” status and how the members appeared to take it well.
At the Seoul Music Performance Awards, Star10 was nominated for the Worldwide Listeners Choice Award, the Best Female Group Vocal Performance Award for Moonlight Darling, and the Discovery Award.
2023: Starship, Gl-amour, SOLAR FLAME[]
Star10 released the studio album Starship on March 15th, 2023, with the title track “FRUSTRATED”. The sound concept for the album was a change from their previous concept in that it went for a more elegant and trendy sound.
The album did not receive any music show wins. Star10’s fans expressed disappointment at the lack of interest from the general public in the album, as several music critics noted that it held a strong and coherent concept with well produced music. The lack of interest, as discussed by netizens, came from the increased competition within girl group releases and Star10 not standing out as a unique and interesting group.
Star10 held their Star10 ANDROMEDA Concert 2023 on March 30th and 31st at KSPO Dome.
On July 31st, it was announced that Bao, Dayoon, and Suhyeong would be releasing a single album as the subunit Pretty Girl Squad in August. On August 20th, Pretty Girl Squad released Gl’amour with the title track “Tell Me’’ with a glamorous yet nostalgic concept.
“Tell Me’’ received its first music show win on August 24th on The Core Music Show. The song also received a win on Beat Bop on August 28th, marking the most wins for a Star10 release since Moonlight Darling.
Star10 released the extended play SOLAR FLAME on October 30th with the title track “glitch in the system”. The group returned to their girl crush roots for the comeback.
Although the comeback did not receive any music show wins, fans expressed that because of Pretty Girl Squad’s release, Star10 was not the “flop” group that netizens had labeled them. “glitch in the system” suddenly rose in the digital charts in November, which critics decided was due to the song’s catchiness and the dedication of Star10’s fanbase.
