Soyung (소영) is a South Korean singer, dancer and model under Phantasma Records. She a member of SUNSHIN6 and was a member of the girl group Pandora.
History[]
Pre-debut[]
Prior to her solo debut in December, she was a part of the dance crew KILLING LOVE. In 2016, she choreographed CLC songs, some being "No Oh Oh", "Chamisma", and "Hobglobin". She also choreographed I.O.I's Crush.
2018: Solo debut[]
On May 27, 2018, The Purple Label released her profile and revealed that Sun Mon-Hee would be a soloist under the company and by the name Seina, her SNS was opened the following day.
On November 30, she announced that she will make her solo debut on December 16. On December 1, her debut was confirmed with a teaser poster for her first mini album "Love Poem". "Love Poem" was released on December 16, 2018 with "Blueming" serving as the albums title track.
2019: Fire, Acting Debut[]
On June 21, 2019, The Purple Label confirmed that Soyung was preparing for a solo comeback sometime in August. It would be her first comeback. On July 20, it was announced that Soyung would be returning with her first digital single Fire on August 3. On September 21, she received her first music show win as a solo artist on Show! Music Core for "Fire". She won a second time on September 24 at The Show.
On November 29, 2019, she made her acting debut after her special appearances on Episode 11, 13 and 16 of JTBC South Korean drama Chocolate. The show aired from November 29, 2019 to January 18, 2020.
2020: New Episode, yaya, strawberry moon[]
On February 25, 2020, when she was attending Radio Idol she announced that she will make a comeback with her second mini album New Episode, the next day her agency confirmed it and released the promotional schedule for the album. New Episode was released on March 7, 2020 with "NAKKA (낙하 )" serving as the album title track. On March 28 she received her first win for "NAKKA (낙하 )" on Show! Music Core, she won for a second time in Music Bank on April 3.
On June 30, she announced her first special summer album that was set to release on July 5, 2020, however it got postponed to July 29, 2020, because a staff member was diagnosed with Covid-19. yaya was released on July 29, 2020 with "yaya (Me Time)" and "Dessert" serving as the album double title tracks.
On December 2, she announced her Japanese debut album to be released in 2021 along with "strawberry moon" a pre-release digital single for her first Japanese EP Time for Me. "strawberry moon" was released on December 11, 2020 as a pre-release digital single.
2021: Japanese Debut, Come & Love me, Debut with Pandora[]
On January 2, 2021, The Purple label stated that she would be signing with Avex Entertainment Inc. for Japanese releases, her debut Japanese EP Time For Me was released on January 28, 2021 with "Moonset" serving as the album title track.
On July 24, Soyung was revealed as Pandora's first member along with groupmates Nelissa and Sujin.
On July 27, she announced her third mini album Come & Love me that would be released on August 6, 2021, the next day the highlight medley was revealed. Come & Love was released on August 6, 2021 with "pit-a-pet" and "Soul Lady" serving as the album double title track. On August 20 she received her first triple crown as a solo artist on Music Bank for "pit-a-pet", she also got a win for "Soul Lady" in Show Champion on September 2.
On October 10, 2021, she officially debuted with Pandora with their first mini album Lets Play Pandora and the title track "Q&A".
2022-2023: Removal from Pandora, signing with Elyz[]
On November 28, The Purple Label released a statement about Soyung's future in the group. The article read that Soyung was getting removed from the group after allegedly using inappropriate language and overpowering herself to the staff members. In a Instagram post the same day, she stated that she never knew about the situation and that she didn't overuse her power and they were making the scandal up. She also said that she will try to join one of the agencies offering her a contract.
The following day, she announced that she had signed with Elyz for a 1-year solo contract as their first solo artist. Despite having a planned solo comeback, it is assumed that comeback plans were cancelled, as her profile was removed from the website, confirming her departure from the agency.
2024-present: SUNSHIN6[]
On May 12, after a year of being on hiatus, she was reported to have signed with Phantasma Records and would be re-debuting as a member of SUNSHIN6.

Relationship[]
On January 1, 2021, it was announced that Soyung has been in a relationship with soloist Kwon Daehyun since 2019. The couple broke up 2 months later due to distant schedules.
Scam Scandal[]
On November 14, 2017 she was involved in a scandal where she supposedly scammed someone in School of Performing Acts in Seoul, the scandal talked about how she scammed her classmate for 518 million won (438,537 USD). She later posted on her Twitter account in a statement that the person had lied since she was in a vacation during the time the scam happened. The victim "A" posted proof of her scamming her when Soyung never talked to that person with a screenshot of her contacts that did not included that person, on November 30 she announced that she was going to take legal action after her fake accusations of scamming a classmate. She later sued Victim "A" for profiting on her scandal. The person later dropped out of her school and the scandal was closed on December 19. The victim "A" was taken to court on March 28, 2018 for several charges of scamming and money laundering in her ex-school.
She became a trend after her scamming scandal was reminded after her birth name was the same name to the scam scandal person she had in School of Performing acts in Seoul, the company announced that they would start taking legal action to the people who were hating on her after the rumor and had shown proof that the victim was actually the scammer.
