Jang Tae-Ryeong (Korean: 장태령), known by her stage name as serendipity (세렌디피티) is a South Korean singer-songwriter, composer and actress under Olympic Records. At the age of 13 she made her soft debut with the digital single Midnight Rain in November 2008 before formally debuting at fourteen in April 2009 with the EP Tyche.
As a result of her dominance over South Korea's digital charts, she has often been referred to as 'The Digitan' (디지탄); a portmanteau of digital and titan.
Her stage name comes from the meaning of serendipity itself, symbolising how people finding love, meaning and more through music is an unplanned yet fortunate discovery.
