Seo Min-jae (서민재), also known as Minjae, is a South Korean singer, rapper, and dancer under Highline Media. She is the leader, main dancer, lead rapper, and vocalist of the girl group BEAUDENT.
She made her solo debut on June 17, 2024, with the single album "I Just".
Career[]
Early Life[]
Born in Songjeong, Haeundae, Busan, South Korea, Minjae was born to lower class parents. Her older half sister, Kang Heewoo, moved out before Minjae was born. Her mother, Lee Hwayoung, is a former member of Beeverse, and currently works as a cook. How did a former idol become a cook? That was a question Minjae would always think of but never asked.
Almost everything seemed meaningless to her at first. She didn't understand certain emotions, passions, and the world. It was almost as if Minjae felt like the world seemed meaningless. And then, something, a tragedy happened.
At age 8, her father, Seo Yeonjae, whom she had loved very much, would die from a car crash. From a child's point of view, a relative, especially a parents death, would greatly affect them as a whole. Every Saturday, she would sneak out of the house and visit the nearest graveyard, where her father was buried. For years, she lacked confidence and happiness, purely due to her fathers death.
That was the usual happenings for years, until she discovered dancing.
A heart that passions dance always shows confidence[]
She discovered dancing and K-POP at age 14. And her heart begged her to try it. Seeming like she needed something to feel energized and happy, she tried dancing. And she enjoyed it.
She then joined a dance team, BINGEULBINGEUL, that focused on covering K-POP songs, creating choreography for groups and soloists, and also acted as a dance school. Every Wednesday, after school, she would go to the dance school and learned how to be a dancer. She exceeded everyones expectations, and grew to be a trained dancer just after a year, the quickest time a dance trainee has become a trained dancer in the school. Her confidence and happiness grew and grew, as the members of the team encourage her to be different and were always by her side. In present day, she is still in said dance team. One quote she always cherished from them was, "A heart that passions dance always shows confidence", a quote that was said to her when she was not confident.
The day of a "K-POP Dance Team Competition" was here. While she had stage fright at first, she was always reassured she would be amazing and would "change everything". And she killed it. The BINGEULBINGEUL team won by a landslide, mainly due to Minjae.
After the performance, a scouter from PY Studios gave her an opportunity to join their company.
2017-present: BEAUDENT, solo debut with "I Just"[]
She was revealed as a member of the group BEAUDENT, being the main dancer of the group. She was quickly admired by the pre-debut members, mainly Hyun Ha-yoon, for her dancing, and had wished to be like her someday. The group made their debut on May 1, 2022, with the studio album The Beau&Dent, Chapter 1.
On June 12, it was announced that Minjae will make her solo debut on June 17 with the single album "I Just".

According to member Jin Hyun-ah, she is someone who can be very reliable on, which is the reason why she earned the title of Leader. According to herself, she is a kind person who is mostly silent, but will talk if she has to. She identifies as a ISTJ, having her and member Sol Young-ae be the only introverts of the group
