Search The Cosmos (코스모스 검색) was a survival show produced by BE: ONE LAB and IMERA Labels. It premiered on February 8, 2022 and had its finale on April 16, 2022.
Concept[]
Search The Cosmos focuses to form a global seven-member boy group , which brings together 20 trainees from different entertainment companies. From the 20 trainees, 7 will be selected to form a project boy group. The group will perform together for 1 year.

Background[]
On February 2, 2022, BE: ONE LAB announced that they would be debuting their first group. The members of the group will then be selected through the survival show, that was then untitled. On February 5, the profile photos of the twenty contestants were revealed. They opened up the social media accounts for the show later that day.

Episode 1 (February 8, 2022)[]
The episode starts off with the trainees audition videos after this the logo is shown as well the show's intro, they all enter the building with their outfits and introduce themselves to the MC and in the same time the elevators take the trainees to the stage. The judges are revealed, then being:

Episode 2 (February 15, 2022)[]
The title song, "My Name" is revealed, which they would perform 3 days later at ASD Nightmine. Trainees begin to train according to their assigned schedule with the mentors. Later it is revealed that the X-rank trainees aren't eliminated, rather taken to a different training center where they emphasize more on the trainee's basics.
Episode 3 (February 22, 2022)[]
The trainees filmed themselves performing the "My Name" and these videos are graded by the mentors. The trainees from 'S' Class would be eligible for the center position in their "My Name" stage at ASD Nightmine while the trainees of the X class would not be allowed to participate in the show. After re-evaluation, the center was chosen with a poll where the fans had voted. Seo Jisang won with 190,648 votes and was chosen as the center of the performance. After rehearsing several times, they performed at ASD Nightmine.
After the performance, Espada announced that the X-Grade trainees would be eliminated. To start of the second mission, Espada announced that a trainee whose name was picked from the lucky draw should pick a team of 5 or 7 and perform songs of popular idols: Geonu, 6topia, EIZA, SPAXIAL and AREAL. Seo Jisang, with the privilege of the center of "My Name", got to choose his group first. The team founders had the right to choose the song and their team members. The group members then assign positions (i.e Main Vocal, Leader, Centre.. etc.) and begin practicing. AREAL's Haewon is seen as a guest mentor.
Episode 4 (March 1, 2022)[]
Trainees were woken up by their title song "My Name" and by an announcement of Sangwon for their "Body Class". Trainees were trained to improve stamina, endurance and also tested their shoulders. The box jump, intended for testing their leg muscles and endurance had three levels, 75 cm, 100 cm and 120 cm. Trainee Lee Wonho was the only one who finished all the three levels. It was followed by a mission of arm wrestling among the trainees. The visual center was picked after this, Four Bloc Entertainment 's Yoon Jihan was picked as first place. A hidden camera prank was shown.
Episode 5 (March 8, 2022)[]
Espada met with the trainees once again to announce the next challenge. The trainees were tasked to perform live in groups based on positions they wanted to debut in: vocal, dance, or "X" . "X" was a new position that required trainees to perform two of the three aforementioned positions simultaneously. There were four songs for vocals (Lovelyz's "When We Were Us", Kim Ryan's "Find You", AREAL's "Never", and SPAXIAL's "Sundial"), three songs for dance (LOONAS's "Why Not" and MINT's "Popsicle"), and two songs for "X" (Illusion's "Undeniable", for vocal x dance, and 6topia's "Immortal Sin", for rap x dance). The winner from each performance in the vocal, dance, and rap positions would receive 100 times their votes while the winner among all songs of each category would receive 100,000 votes. For the "X" position, the winner from each performance would receive 200 times their votes while the overall winner would receive 200,000 votes.
Episode 6 (March 15, 2022)[]
After the last performance, the contestants were shown their overall ranking based on their positions. Yang Joonho and Momoi Masayuki emerged as the overall winners of the vocal and dance positions, respectively, each of them earning 100,000 votes along with their audience votes times 100. Hwang Yuwon emerged as the overall winner of the "X" position, earning 200,000 votes along with his audience votes times 200.
Espada then introduced the next challenge: Concept Evaluation. He introduced the five songs: Gwan Chung-Ae's "Too Bad", LDN Noise's "Magnolia", Kang Aeri's "Damage", Kum Seung-won's "Galaxyia", and Lee Jisoo's "Rocket". A mini contest of who punches the strongest on the punching machine was conducted. Feng Chun Yung was given the title "Punching King".
Episode 7 (March 22, 2022)[]
Espada gathered the groups and revealed some information to them. He revealed the benefit votes for the on-site voting. First place trainees of each team will receive 500 times their votes. The first place team of the concept evaluation will receive 200,000 benefit votes. However, the members of the first place team will split the votes so that the first place trainee in the group receives 100,000 votes and the rest receive 20,000 votes.
The trainees had a practice session in front of all the trainers, including a special guest, Adalat the choreographer for "Rocket". After each group's practice with the trainers, Espada announced that there would be two eliminations on the episode. Nu Seung-Heon, Jang Minhyuk and Tsutsui Osamu were candidates for elimination, only one would survive the elimination round and the rest candidates would be eliminated.

Episode 8 (March 29, 2022)[]
Each concept stage was shown along with behind the scenes practices, training, and recording for each group. After each group performed, Espada gathered the trainees and announced the rankings for each group and for each trainee among the groups. "Too Bad" was announced to be the first place team, with trainee Hwang Yuwon taking the overall first rank spot, gaining the most benefit votes.
Episode 9 (April 5, 2022)[]
Espada announced the final 13 trainees to survive the ranking announcement and move on to the final episode and live show. Before the ranking announcement, some behind the scenes footage was shown of the trainees. This included a makeup class lead by TRØX's, Nix, and a "field day" with the trainees playing various games for prizes. After these behind the scenes videos were shown, Espada announced the top 13 trainees. Between the rank announcement, the trainees were shown choosing their "top picks" from the 16 trainees. Takanashi Isamu came out as the trainee's top pick.
After the ranks were announced, the trainees were then gathered and shown the two debut concept songs. The first song revealed was, "Cherry", a dance-pop K-pop genre song produced by Lee Jinseok. The other song revealed was, "Spotlight", an EDM Ballad genre song produced by MATRYIX. The last part of the episode showed the trainees in their groups practicing together and in front of the trainers. Each groups leaders were chosen, Momoi Masayuki being the leader for "Spotlight", and K.9 Entertainment's Lee Wonho being the leader for "Spotlight". The centers were not chosen this episode, but were revealed during the live show
Episode 10 (April 16, 2022)[]
(Originally scheduled to release on March 12 but was postponed due to internal problems)
The episode started of with the final trainees doing a final journal in a practice room. They talked about their adventure and progress on the show. Some clips were shown from various point sin the show. It then went to the live stage with Espada introducing the start of the show and getting things started. Once voting was opened, the final 20 trainees started performing the show's title song "My Name".
The groups were shown gathered and watching clips of each trainee as center, then voting on who would be the final center for both songs. During the live performance following these clips, it was revealed that Kang Haegyu was chosen as the center for "Cherry" and Yoon Jihan was chosen as the center for "Spotlight". After the performances of each debut song all 13 trainees then performed the song "Starting Dreams" a ballad song with some behind the scenes clips played before hand.
Clips were then shown of the trainees watching their audition clips, and then complimenting each other and sharing their bonds and friendships. Espada then revealed the name of the group, as was voted on by the public, "QUANTUM".
