Rory (로리) is an Australian singer, rapper and composer of Taiwanese-Thai descent currently under Olympic Records. He is set to make his solo debut in 2025.
He is best known as a former member of the co-ed group After School Club, its male sub-unit, CLASS:b, Australian indie pop group AA Lads and as a guest member of seVenwrld.
Early Life[]
Trainee period[]
Rory became an Olympic Records trainee after being scouted in 2017 following the disbandment of the boy group he was in, the AA Lads. He was approached by a scouter following the group's farewell performance and successfully passed an audition two months later. Upon signing a trainee contract, he moved to Seoul to begin his training.
Career[]
2016-2017: The AA Lads[]
In 2016, Rory debuted as a member of The AA Lads, an Australian pop boy group based in Sydney. Through releasing various digital singles on their YouTube channel, the group curated a small but loyal following. The AA Lads disbanded in 2017 following creative differences between the members.
Pre-Debut[]
In 2017, Rory was successfully cast after being scouted by an Olympic Records scout during The AA Lads' farewell concert. Although initially uninterested, he later completed a successful audition cycle and moved to Seoul to begin his idol training.
2021-2023: After School Club Debut Initiative, Debut with After School Club & CLASS:b[]
On February 26, 2021, Rory was revealed as After School Club's eleventh and penultimate member. The announcement of his debut saw the reignition of interest in The AA Lads, leading to some of their songs charting for the first and only time. On March 9, the music video for his single, 'WorldWideWaves,' was released and thus marked his redebut.
Rory debuted as a member of After School Club on May 21, 2021 with the release of the mini-album SCHOOLS OUT!.
2023 (2): Hiatus & Departure from After School Club[]
On February 23, Olympic Records announced that Rory would undergo a hiatus from After School Club and CLASS:b activities due to undisclosed reasons.
On March 10, airport photos revealed he had returned to his native Australia.
On March 13, in a 2024-disproven claim, one of Rory's former bandmates claimed he was a part of a bullying ring within the group. The same day, Olympic Records announced legal action against the spreading of 'false narratives.'
On April 8, Rory's exit from After School Club was confirmed by Olympic Records due to family issues and emerging health problems. On the same day, he posted a letter posted to social media translated into English, Mandarin and Korean. In it, he reaffirmed his reasons for leaving as family problems and emerging health problems and that he would work diligently to return. The following day, Olympic Records confirmed that he was still signed to the label.
2024-present: Guest debut with seVenwrld & solo debut with R☻RY[]
On May 29, 2024, Rory was announced as a guest member of seVenwrld. Although primarily a lore member of the group, cosmichaus announced that Rory would be participating in all full-group releases.
On April 26, 2025, Olympic Records announced that Rory would make his solo debut on May 21 that year with the mini-album R☻RY. Olympic Records confirmed with his solo debut that his participation in seVenwrld would come to an end.
