History[]

2013: Debut with SIREN[]

rainFall debuted on January 9, 2013 with the single, "SIREN". The album underperformed on music charts, and sold poorly both domestically and internationally. Many people were disappointed with the song, claiming that it was nothing new, and that they expected more from a rich company. rainFall did not chart on the GaOn Albums Chart, and failed to receive a music win.

2014-2015: Flower Field, Sorrowful Goodbye, and Hiatus[]

After a year and a half hiatus, rainFall had their first comeback on August 24, 2014, with the mini album "Flower Field". Although it managed to chart better than SIREN, it still received criticism for sounding too similar to Miracle Skybound's mini album, "Memoirs from a coffee shop". Flower Field peaked at #139 on the GaOn Albums Chart.

On June 7, 2015, rainFall had their second comeback with the lead single "Sorrowful Goodbye". Although it took a different sound of music, Sorrowful Goodbye was once again hit with criticism after a controversial lyric leading to rumors of misandry. The single did not chart, and Horizon Entertainment had to clarify the lyric meaning, stating that it was not about misandry, nor was it supposed to have any misandry tendencies. Despite the letter, rainFall went on a hiatus.

Despite new found success, Yuri and Sohye left the group and Horizon Entertainment on January 10, 2018. On July 6, 2018, rainFall released their second mini-album, "Imaginary". The album initially underperformed in terms of sales, but after a V-Live of Seo covering their title track, Mad Hatter, on August 10, 2019, rainFall was praised for their raw vocal prowess, and began to blow up everywhere. They received their first win on "The Show" on September 12, 2019.
