ROSE&SHIELD Entertainment (로즈앤쉴드 엔터테인먼트) is a South Korean record label and entertainment company established on June 1, 2018 by Kwon Chanwook, former member of boy group B.O.S.S. It currently manages girl group Kaleidoscope and boy group PALADIN.
On June 2, 2023, Olympic Records announced that the company had earned a majority stake within the company and had delegated it to a subsidiary with the intent of the company retaining a high level of autonomy and independence.
History[]
2018: Formation[]
In April 2018, Kwon Chanwook announced his intent to establish a one-man agency to manage his solo activities as he prepared for the B.O.S.S reunion. The announcement came one month after it was revealed that he had left his former company, HYPEBOY Network.
2023: Acquisition by Olympic Records & Signing of Kaleidoscope & PALADIN[]
On June 2, it was announced that Olympic Records had acquired a majority stake within the company. ROSE&SHIELD Entertainment was promptly delegated to a semi-independent subsidiary label with Kwon Chanwook retaining his position as CEO. Kwon later revealed that the acquisition was one he organised himself, believing it to be valuable for both parties. Days later, it was announced that ROSE&SHIELD would begin to seek trainees for their first boy group.
On July 12, it was announced that ЯӨYGBIV had signed with ROSE&SHIELD Entertainment following the expiration of their contracts with Essence Media, rebranding to Kaleidoscope. The group, who had used Kwon Chanwook as their primary producer, chose to sign with his company out of loyalty and continuity with their music.
On September 7, it was announced that HERO had signed with ROSE&SHIELD Entertainment following the termination of their contracts with GALAXY Entertainment, rebranding in the process to PALADIN and experiencing a line-up shuffle. The group, who also used Kwon Chanwook as a producer and concept coordinator, chose to sign with his agency due to commitment to the vision he saw for them.
