Planetary Girls: The New Saga (플래닛터리 걸스: 더 뉴 사가) is a large-scale survival show focused on creating an international Korean based global girl group where the public votes their favorite trainees to be chosen as potentials to debut.
A sequel, Planetary 2 Girls, is scheduled to air sometime in 2025 on MSB.
Concept[]
Planetary Girls: The New Saga, is a Large-Scale Reality Survival Show where 99 girls from different countries of Asia, are brought on the show to prove themselves that they can debut. The show's grading system is: Star, Dwarf Star, Black Star and Dark Hole. With Star being the highest ranking and Black Star being the lowest ranking, The new rank, Dark Hole, is given to the lacking trainees to disqualify them throughout the episodes. The Group would be performing as a Permanent girl group rather than a Project girl group.
The voting will be done through the show's official website newsaga.planetarygirls.com. During the show, the fans would be voting 9 Trainees instead of 12 like the previous seasons, until the finale, where in the finale fans had to chose only 1 out of the remaining trainees to debut as a 9 members girl group CALYPSO.
History[]
On January 9, 2022, SCS Uploaded a teaser called "Planetary Girls: The New Saga" in their official SNS accounts with the notice of Auditions being open till February 2, 2022. The show will be airing on 2022 sometime after Planetary Boys 100.
on April 5, 2022, it was revealed that Planetary Girls: The New Saga will premiere on June 30, 2022.
