Park Min-jun (박민준) is a South Korean singer-songwriter, composer, and instrumentalist currently signed under 484 Company. A 6x Hangang Artistry Awards winner who primarily makes alternative, folk, and trot music, he made his debut in May 2014 and currently has two studio albums and five single albums. Prior to his solo career, he was briefly a member of Japanese-Korean boyband Finekiz.

Early life[]

Park Minjun was born in the city of Pocheon, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea on March 21, 1992. His mother worked at a meat processing plant while his father was a wedding photographer. Minjun had already aspired to be a musician as early as 7 years old, when he placed third at a small singing contest hosted by a local television network at a nearby shopping mall. When he was 10, he received the opportunity to model for a jeans brand, which opened the doors for connections in the entertainment industry.

In June 2010, after successfully passing the spring auditions hosted in Seoul, Park Minjun was officially announced as one of the new trainees of GP Entertainment, alongside junior talents Lee Jongyeon, Cho Hangyeom, Bong Seojun, Koga Hiromu, and Hajime Kuwata.
On November 5, 2010, Minjun, alongside the other boys of GP Entertainment, made their official debut with the single album We are Finekiz, which sold approximately 5,000 copies. Months later in February 2011, they made their official debut in Japan with the single "Hierarchy O Noboru", which Minjun sat out of due to a severe injury that led him to go on hiatus.
In May 2011, it was officially announced by GP Entertainment that Park Minjun had left the group and retired from the entertainment industry due to long-term health complications. In a Facebook comment, Minjun alleged that he had actually left the company due to the toxic work environment, as well as the label forcing them to go on unhealthy training schedules and meetings with "weird executives". It was later deleted after an hour, and he would go silent for the next few years. Around the time period, he enlisted in the South Korean military to complete his mandatory military service until he was discharged in early 2014.

In March 2014, it was revealed that Park Minjun had signed with 24D Entertainment for activities in the music industry.
In May 2014, Park Minjun released his first single album We Just Don't Work Out, a self-produced three-track record that incorporates acoustic, ballad, and folk elements. The single was the subject of numerous positive reviews from music journalists, who praised its simultaneous catchiness, humorous lyricism, and sonically interesting production.
In August 2014, Park Minjun recorded his first official soundtrack (OST) single, "Tongue of the Devil", for a dark crime investigation thriller series on MBS. The OST became Minjun's mainstream breakthrough, peaking at top thirty on the Gaon Digital Chart. A live performance video reached over ten million views on YouTube, with Minjun being lauded in some news articles as the new golden voice in the music industry. As a result of his emerging presence in popular music, he earned three nominations at the prestigious Hangang Artistry Awards. In the year-end ceremony, he took an upset victory for Best New Artist, beating out highly publicized K-pop artists.
In April 2015, Park Minjun released his second single album Deja Vu, featuring the title track of the same name.
In June 2016, Park Minjun released his debut studio album That Summer I Fell In Love. The album sold over 25,000 copies, with the lead single "A Rare Gift For Me", becoming a top 10 hit in South Korea. He held his first ever nationwide concert tour during August.
In January 2017, Park Minjun released his second single album Rough Waters.
In May 2019, Park Minjun released his second studio album The End of a Nightmare. The album was nominated for Artist of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Ballad/Folk Album, and Best Metal/Rock Recording at the 2019 Hangang Artistry Awards, winning Best Ballad/Folk Album.
In February 2020, Park Minjun released his third single album Keeping to Myself.
On August 11, 2025, Park Minjun partnered up with K-pop singer Charlie Kwon to release the collaborative studio album Minjun and Charlie Presents... Horrid Salmon!.

Artistry[]

Minjun's vocals have been described as husky, deep and hoarse often in an attractive way. He has a rich, soulful voice that is capable of strong and powerful vocals when needed, and can be easily modulated for harmonization. He is also known for his ease in hitting high notes, and very consistent resonance. His vocals are are noted to be expressive and full of emotion, which often evokes the feeling of the song in question. His musical style includes the elements of rock, dance-pop, rock, reagge or even ballad with recurring themes of cool and swag.
