ONEa (Korean: 원에이; Japanese: ワンエーイ) is an 9-members South Korean boy group under NIC Entertainment and SOURCE ON Japan. They were formed through the survival show The Formula: One A. They made their debut on April 2, 2025, with their first single album The Butterfly.
History[]
Pre-debut:[]
On August 1, 2024, SCS revealed that a special survival show titled The Formula: One A would premiere on September 2, 2024. The show's premise is to form a boy group from a pool of 19 trainees who have had previous experiences as trainees or idols. The number of debutants is solely determined by the evaluation, where how many contestants will get the "A" formula.
Debut:[]
On the finale, November 4, 2024, It was revealed that the final group would be called ONEa, out of the 19 trainees only 9 were able to achieve the "A" formula and would be making their debut. The "A" formula obtainers were: Park Yujin, Hwang Seojoon, Wi Jeongyeon, Kim Yuseon, Kwon Minwoo, Ho Sewon, Yoo Riwoong, Nam Surin and Kim Sungmin. Shortly after the show was finished the official SNS accounts were opened with the group's logo motion being published in each respectively. In the same day it was revealed that the boy group would be managed by NIC Entertainment and SOURCE ON Japan as well as revealing that they aim to debut the group sometime in the second quarter of 2025 but more announcements regarding ONEa's debut will come throughout earlier that same year.
On November 10, 2024, ONEa held their first live where they revealed their personal colors and the leader of the group, Hwang Seojoon.
On March 10, 2025, NIC Entertainment announced that ONEa would be making their awaited debut on April 2, 2025, with their first single album The Butterfly. In the same day the agency also revealed the fandom name to be iwu (이부).
