Neon Axys (formerly VENUS) is a girl group under Neptune Entertainment. They debuted in 2004 with the single "Memory" under FairyDream Company.

History[]

Pre-debut[]

In the K-pop ferment of the early 2000s, FairyDream Company, an emerging agency with artistic ambitions, began to select talented young trainees with the goal of launching a multi-site and choreographically rich girl group. The auditions lasted more than a year and led to the training of eight girls from different parts of South Korea, with different stylistic and vocal nuances.

The first training sessions were intense: singing, dancing, diction, English language, experimental choreographies and theatrical workshops. The girls were already distinguished by a natural synergy: each with a distinct identity, but complementary. The name chosen was VENUS, symbolizing beauty, femininity and luminous strength.

2004-2009: VENUS[]

The debut came in 2004 with the single "Memory", a melancholy pop ballad that highlighted the group’s sophisticated vocal harmonies. Despite fierce competition, VENUS managed to stand out for its emotional and refined approach, and for an elegant and less childish image than the bands of the day.

In 2005 "12:25 (Wish List)" is released, a soft-pop and acoustic collection that conquers hearts with the warm and sincere air of the holidays.

In 2007 the single "Always", a melodic mid-tempo on adult love, gets critical recognition for mature lyrics and orchestral sound.

In 2009 the mini album "Goodbye" is launched in a climate of uncertainty. The title itself seems to anticipate the upcoming break. Despite the intense tracks, including the poignant "Echo Line", FairyDream Company shows signs of internal disorganization.

When their contracts come to an end, the eight members decide not to renew, tired of the creative constraints imposed and eager to explore individual lives and careers.

2024-present: Neon Axys[]

In 2024, on the occasion of the twentieth anniversary of his debut, Sooky proposes a reunion. Not out of nostalgia, but to regain their right to their own art, feeling that their voice as adult women had not yet really been heard.

All accept with enthusiasm, except Ara, Haeun and J2, who, while emotionally supporting the companions, decide not to come back under the spotlight. The remaining five start preparation under Neptune Entertainment, a subsidiary of Lunaris Entertainment.

However, a legal battle ensues against FairyDream, which held the rights to the name VENUS and prevented its use. After months of tension and negotiations, the five members decide to voluntarily abandon the old name and be reborn as Neon Axys.

In 2025, with almost 40 years old, Neon Axys returns to the music scene with "INITIATE: CODE 000", a single symphonic electro-pop that combines modern production with a rare lyrical depth in the idol panorama. The song is about reset, rebirth and rewriting of your own emotional code.

The visual concept shows the five as stars in orbit, no longer very young, but full of a new light. The audience, initially skeptical, embraces the project with enthusiasm: Neon Axys is a rarity in K-pop - adult women, self-determined, artistically autonomous.

Legacy[]

Neon Axys is now considered a pioneer group of the "second life idol", inspiring many younger artists to imagine an artistic longevity. No longer just a nostalgic project, but a declaration of independence and rebirth, which has opened new paths in the industry for those who want to continue creating without age.
