NUSCENT (누센트) was a seven-member pre-debut boy group under GALAXY Entertainment. They were intended to make their debut in 2024, however member Gyoyuk revealed that plans for their debut were cancelled following the departure of fellow labelmate HERO.
The group's last lineup consisted of Taekhun, Narin, ChangO, J.I, Gyoyuk, Shijin, and HaeHye.
Name[]
The name NUSCENT is a combination of NU and SCENT, expressing their wishes to leave a "new scent" in the industry.
History[]
2022: Introduction, "Not Everything", lineup changes[]
On September 2, a video was posted on GALAXY Entertainment's YouTube account, announcing their upcoming seven-member group NUSCENT. The members consisted of Seungchan, Yumok, former pre-debut member of HERO, Ren, Euncheol, Taeny, Gyoyuk, and Haehyung, although Haehyung changed his name to HaeHye sometime later.
On October 28, GALAXY Entertainment announced that Euncheol would be leaving the group due to health issues. He was announced to have been replaced with ChangO the next day.
On December 2, they released the pre-debut single "Not Everything". GALAXY Entertainment revealed that the group would release 7 pre-debut singles under the NAME project, where they would release singles beginning with letters from their group name, in preparations for their group debut in 2024. As well, different members will be selected to participate in said singles to showcase their talents, with "Not Everything" featuring members Yumok and Seungchan.
2023: "uinmylife", "Saddening Story", "Cool", "En Garde!", "New Me", lineup changes[]
On January 28, as a part of the NAME project, the group released their second pre-debut single "uinmylife" featuring members Ren, Gyoyuk, and HaeHye. Shortly afterwards, Ren announced that he had terminated his contract with GALAXY Entertainment, confirming his departure. On February 3, Tojun, a younger brother of HERO member Tohyun, was announced as a new member.
On March 28, they released the third pre-debut single in the NAME project "Saddening Story". The release featured members Yumok, Tojun, Seungchan, and ChangO. The next day, Yumok and Seungchan were announced to have left the group. The same day, Taeyeop and Taekhun were announced as new members.
On May 2, they released the fourth pre-debut single in the NAME project titled "Cool" featuring members Taeyeop, Taekhun, Tojun and ChangO. Later that same day, Tojun and Taeyeop were announced to be leaving the group, with Tojun remaining in GALAXY Entertainment to pursue further training. The 2 were replaced by Narin and J.I a month later.
On July 30, they released the fifth pre-debut single "En Garde!" followed by "New Me" on September 30. "En Garde!" featured members Taekhun and Narin, while "New Me" featured members J.I, Gyoyuk, HaeHye, and new member Shijin.
Plans for the group paused due to a lawsuit between HERO and GALAXY Entertainment. During the inactivity, a new member, Taeny, was seen performing with the group. However, he left almost a month later.
2024: "To.Love", disbandment[]
On May 27, plans for the group resumed with the release of their seventh and final pre-debut single "To.Love" as a full group.
However, on July 8, Gyoyuk revealed that the plans for the group's debut were cancelled due to the departure of HERO.
