Mubon Soojeong (무본수정), also known as simply Soojeong (수정), as well as her producer name MB.SJ (엠비에스제이), is a South Korean singer, rapper, producer, and model under Darktrace Med1a. She is a member of producing team Musicarena, a former member of darktrace, and a former contestant on the show We Are Forever Icon.
Early Life[]
Mubon Soojeong was born on June 8, 2003, in a poorer part of Seoul, South Korea. Right when she was born, the doctor had revealed to her mother, Ye Hyemeen, that she would not live past the age of 2 because they had discovered a fatal brain tumor, and surgery for the family was too expensive at the time, so they had genuinely accepted that Soojeong wouldn't live past 2.
Her family was known for selling cooked ramen for others to eat on their way. From this, they made about $200 per month, which was good. One day, a friend of the family, Kim Hyejung, a well-known doctor and surgeon, offered to help remove the brain tumor in Soojeong after hearing about the situation. Wanting whatever chance to have their daughter live past 2, they accepted Hyejung's offer. Hyejung then got right to work with Soojeong.
When Hyejung called her parents after the procedure was done, they were worried sick. Once Hyejung came out, they repeatedly asked questions based on one topic: Soojeong. Hyejung then told them the best news they had ever heard.
The procedure was successful, the tumor was gone, and Soojeong would be living past 2.
Career[]
Model Career[]
At the age of 15, Soojeong began her modeling career after being nominated the ambassador of Gucci. Soojeong would then model for various brands, including Louis Vuitton, etc.
Producing Career[]
At the age of 18, she turned to the music industry, and immediately started composing songs, starting on Bandlab and eventually getting a synth and her own computer for music. She produced various songs, and was credited across various songs, like IVE's "Eleven" and LE SSERAFIM's "Fearless" under the name MB.SJ.
2022: We Are Forever Icon[]
Sometime in January of 2022, she was introduced as an upcoming contestant on We Are Forever Icon. Unfortunately, she was eliminated in the second round, placing 38th respectively. She often posted on her social media, but sometime in late 2022, she had deactivated all accounts, suggesting she had joined a company.
2023-2024: darktrace[]
On March 16, she was introduced as the 6th member of darktrace, with her representative devil as Asmodeus.
On July 11, after months of inactivity, darktrace was announced to be rebranding to ce1estine and will re-organize with a completely new lineup.
