2007: DSSD Debut[]
On January 7, Mindeullae was announced under her birthname Darae as a cast member of Girls in the City!, a reality show by Olympic Records that was set to follow three teenage girls who were chasing the stardom of being K-Pop idols. As the oldest member, Mindeullae assumed the role of leader of the group and earned the nickname 'Tiny Leader.' Mindeullae's vocals were identified quickly into the program and many netizens were convinced she'd have a career within the industry.
On May 18, DSSD formally debuted with the EP We're Here.
On October 2, DSSD came back with the full album DSSD: The Story.
As per their contracts, DSSD disbanded on December 31 following a farewell concert in Seoul. All three members were resigned to Olympic Records following their expiration of their DSSD contracts. Mindeullae signed a soloist contract, reportedly at the time having decided that 'being in a girl group just wasn't for her.' Her comments in later years would come under some scrutiny but Mindeullae has consistently clarified that, though she loved her groupmates, being in a group wasn't what she envisioned it would be.
