Mew (Thai: มิว, Korean: 뮤, Chinese: 马山尼), also known by the stage name Shanny Mew (ชานนี่ มิว), is a Thai singer under Rosen Label. She serves as the sweet-voiced main vocalist of the Thai girl group ROSEINBLOOM. Mew is also widely recognized for her career as a soloist, as well as her work as a model and social media influencer on Instagram.
She made her solo debut under the stage name Shanny Mew with the single "heartstopper" on May 25, 2022. Mew stated that she'd love to continue releasing solo music in the future, but for now she's focusing on ROSEINBLOOM.
Early life[]
Mew was born in Chiang Mai, Thailand, as Chanita Manonitnantawat on October 29, 2004. Her parents are Setthapong (father) and Apisara Manonitnantawat (mother), the owners of a Chinese restaurant in Chiang Mai. She's also known to have 1 younger sister. Mew and her sister have always been very family orientated, often working at their parent's restaurant together.
Mew has never been the most academically strong child, but she has one thing people yearn to attain, charisma. As a child her mistakes were often overlooked because she knows how to sweet talk her way out of situations. Along with her younger sister, she would go around and use that charm to get free things—street food, handmade jewelry, clothes, etc. One day, Mew had a revelation; if she's so good at speaking to people, she could be the perfect social media influencer. She officially opened her Instagram account, @shannymew, in 2020, shortly followed her a TikTok account of the same name.
Mew's social media following started off modest, only receiving about 500 - 800 likes per post. She really started blowing up in 2021 when she made a certain post. In mid February, Mew did what she normally did, she filmed videos for TikTok, however she quickly realized a video of her and her sister dancing to "Best Friend" by Doja Cat and Saweetie was going viral. Day by day, Mew received more and more followers. And only one month after the video went viral, she reached 1,000,000 followers on her TikTok account, and 700,000 on her Instagram account. She continued posting as normal, but all her videos were getting mass attention. By the end of 2021, she had accumulated more than 5,000,000 followers on TikTok, and more than 2,000,000 followers on Instagram.

2022-2024: "heartstopper", "ZiGZaG"[]
With her new found attention, Mew decided to use her platform to pursue a dream she had always had, music. She began teasing something in late March, and fans were excited. Starting on April 25, 2022, and lasting until May 24, 2022, Mew stopped posting her regular dance, and singing videos, and only promoted her upcoming debut single, "heartstopper". The song, even before being released, became an instant TikTok hit around South East Asia. She officially released the self-written R&B-pop track on May 25, 2022.
On July 14, 2023, a little over a year since she released her last song, Mew began teasing a new project. She began trending on Twitter in Thailand as soon as she dropped a small teaser photo. Fans were anticipating her next project as "heartstopper" did so well. On July 20, she announced that she would soon be releasing her second single "ZiGZaG". The news excited fans as they were interested to see what the singer would bring to stand out. On August 4, 2023, Mew officially released her second single, and was immediately showered with love. The track was much more laid back and light than her previous one, fitting into the trend at the time of soft, Y2K music. The concept change paid off and "ZiGZaG" topped the Thailand spotify charts.
2024-present: ROSEINBLOOM[]
On December 19, Mew was unexpectedly announced to be the 2nd member of Rosen Label's very first girl group, ROSEINBLOOM. Although the news had fans surprised, it was very welcomed. Mew had previously spoken about her dream of debuting in a girl group, so fans were glad to see her achieve her goal. Her fans always loved her sweet voice, so not many were surprised when she was revealed to be the group's main vocal.
