MOXXI (Korean: 막시; RR: Moksi) is a South Korean girl group under Hwarang Entertainment. It is composed of five members: Stella, Akari, Hana, Eunji and Sooyoung. They debuted on May 5, 2025 with the digital single "BRATTI".
Name[]
"MOXXI" is a stylized play on the word 'moxie', meaning energy, pep and determination. The double X signifies quantity and duality, such as the two sides of the group: bold and rebellious, stylish and glamorous. "MOXXI" is their 'brand name' that exudes charisma and confidence.
History[]
Pre-debut[]
On February 12, 2025, Hwarang Entertainment announced that they were aiming to debut their first girl group within the year.[1] It was rumored that longtime trainee Stella Yang would be part of the group's line-up alongside Japanese influencer Miyamoto Akari. The company would later be acquired by ANCORE MEDIA in April of that year.[2]
On May 2, 2025, the group's official SNS accounts were opened, revealing their name as MOXXI.[3] The line-up was confirmed to consist of five members: Stella, Akari, Hana, Eunji and Sooyoung.[4]
2025: Debut with "BRATTI"[]
At 12AM KST on May 5, 2025, MOXXI announced that they would be debuting the same day with their first digital single "BRATTI", releasing at 6PM KST.[5] Their surprise debut single was a strategy to showcase their talents first, rather than immediately releasing concept photos.[6]
