Lunette (루넷) is a three-member girl group under Galaxia Entertainment. They debuted as five members on February 20, 2014, with the single album "NEW MOON".
The group was announced to be going on an indefinite hiatus after the release of "Move On" to have the members focus on individual activities.
History[]
2014: Debut, "Cosmic"[]
On January 15, 2014, Galaxia revealed that they would debut their first girl group named LUNETTE. On the same day, they opened the staff and group's Twitter, Instagram, and Fancafe accounts. On the group's social media accounts, a teaser was posted revealing the official logo of the group. On January 20, an article was published on Naver, revealing that former YG trainees Ah "Sky" Haneul and Jung Boah were included in the group's lineup. Later that same day, a teaser video was posted on Stone Music Entertainment's channel on YouTube, confirming Sky as the first member. The following day, Yuri was revealed as the second member, followed by Hannah on the 23, Aerin on the 28, and Boa on February 2.
On February 5, 2014, the concept photos of the group and the members was revealed. On February 8, the group revealed their schedule list for their debut album. LUNETTE debuted on February 20 with the single album "NEW MOON" and its title "Moonlight dance". They held their debut stage the same day on M Countdown.
On July 15, the group released their second single album "COSMIC" and its title track "Stars and me". At their comeback showcase on the same day, they revealed their fandom name to be "ECLIPSE", after the group's desire that "ECLIPSE" will eclipse them everything that is against LUNETTE and ECLIPSE.
2015: "OKAY", "LUNETTE: Shining Tour", "RUBY MOON"[]
On January 14, 2015, LUNETTE announced they will be releasing their first mini album OKAY on February 2.
It was revealed on January 30 that the group would hold their first world tour titled LUNETTE: Shining Tour, starting on March 10 with their U.S. leg. The leg will make stops in Dallas, Atlanta, Chicago, Jersey City, New York and Los Angeles.
On February 2, the group released their first mini-album "OKAY" and its title track "Yeah or Nah?".
Sometime in May, LUNETTE announced that they currently working on a new album named RUBY MOON that is set to be released in August. Around midnight on August 20, the first set of teasers were released through the company's official website, the group's official Instagram, and the group's official Twitter account. Later that day, they posted another set of teasers which revealed the album title and the full track list which includes the title track, "FANTASY". From August 20 to August 24, the teaser photos for the then upcoming mini album in the following order: Aerin, Sky, Yuri, Hannah, and Boa. A music video teaser for the title track "FANTASY" was released on August 29 with album packaging preview being released on the next day. The mini album and music video for "FANTASY" was released digitally on August 30 and had its physical release on August 31.
2016-2017: "SAKURA GARDEN", Japanese Debut, "LUNETTE: Shining Tour Japan", "LUNETTE: A Day with LUNETTE", "Re: RUBY MOON", Yuri and Sky hiatuses and returns, Aerin's dating rumors[]
On February 20, 2016, LUNETTE announced that they will be releasing their second mini album SAKURA GARDEN" on March 2. The group released their second mini album "SAKURA GARDEN" and its title track "CINDERELLA" on the aforementioned date.
On March 8, it was reported that the group would hold their second world tour titled LUNETTE: Shining Tour Japan, starting on March 25 with their Japan leg. The leg will make stops in Tokio, Chiba, Fukuoka, Chiba and Osaka
On June 1, they announced their first reality show LUNETTE: A Day with LUNETTE set to begin airing by next week.
On January 1, 2017, LUNETTE announced their second mini named Re: RUBY MOON. The mini album and music video for "TEAR" was released digitally on January 21 and had its physical release on January 22.
On May 2, it was announced that Yuri and Sky will be going on hiatus due to health issues. Later, rumors surged that Aerin was dating EXO member Chanyeol, however both SM Entertainment and Galaxia Entertainment denied the rumors.
On November 30, it was announced that Yuri and Sky will be returning to the group.
2018-2019: English repackage of "SAKURA GARDEN", "Love me, Hate them", LUNETTE: Shining Tour 2019, Aerin and Sky solo debuts[]
On March 2, LUNETTE announced their first English album re-packaged titled Re: SAKURA GARDEN. The mini album and music video for "CINDERELLA (Eng. ver.)" was released digitally on March 20 and had its physical release on March 21.
On June 12, the first set of teasers for "Love me, Hate them" were released through the company's official website, the group's official Instagram, and the group's official Twitter account. A music video teaser for the title track "Love me, me, me" was released on June 15 with album packaging preview being released on the next day. The mini album and music video for "Love me, me, me" was released digitally on June 20 and had its physical release on June 21.
On December 18, 2018, it was reported that the group would hold their third world tour titled LUNETTE: Lunar Eclipse, starting on February 10, 2019, with their leg. The leg will make stops in 7 countries, including South Korea, Australia, United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Denmark, and Japan.
On July 20, Aerin released her first digital single named "LADY".
On December 24, Sky released her first digital single named "WAKE UP'.
2020: Solo debuts, SAY[]
On February 2, the group revealed their schedule list for their first studio album LUNETTE: Special Edition. However, the album was postponed indefinitely due to the COVID-19 crisis in South Korea. The company then announced that members Yuri, Boa, and Hannah will be making their solo debuts in late February to early March while Aerin and Sky formed the first sub-unit SAY. Yuri was later added sometime later to the unit.
On February 23, Yuri's debut single "BLOSSOM" was released, followed by Hannah's Solo "ROAD" on February 28.
On March 6, Boa released her solo single "ME". On March 10, the first sub-unit SAY debuted with the single "Say my Name".
2021: LUNETTE: Special Edition, Black Dress[]
On March 22, 2021, they finally released their first studio album LUNETTE: Special Edition after a postponement of 1 year and 2 days due to the pandemic. It was released with "TOGETHER INTO THE FUTURE (미래에 함께)" serving as the album title track.
On June 29, Lunette revealed their plans to release their fourth mini album along with a mockumentary show showing the process of the comeback. Their mockumentary show Lunette Talents Can't Be Wasted was premiered in YouTube and VLIVE on July 11.
Lunette's fourth Korean mini album Black Dress, along with its title track of the same name, was released on July 31.
2022: No![]
On January 23, 2022, a repackage album for Black Dress was announced to be releasing the next month. On February 8, the group was announced to be releasing their second Korean repackage album No!, along with its title track "No".
2023: "Move On", departures of Yuri and Boa[]
On February 15, 2023, Galaxia Entertainment announced that the group would release a single sometime in March. The group released their first digital single "Move On" on March 4, with the music video being uploaded a day earlier. The group also held a showcase for the single the next day. A week later, Galaxia Entertainment also stated that the single would wrap up the activities for Lunette. After multiple concerns, the company released a statement saying that the group will not release any new music but will be undergoing an indefinite hiatus as the company plans to begin individual activities for each member.
Following the news, on April 10, Galaxia Entertainment announced that member Boa had left the group due to personal reasons. However, she will still be under the company as an individual artist.
On May 3, it was announced that Yuri had terminated her contract and will be leaving Lunette.
