LXXK (눈초리), formerly known as Rose In The Desert, is a musical duo under HYPE Labels consisting of members Yiren and YENA. They were formed as an independent cover group in November 2020 and released their debut single "LXXK" on January 9, 2022. They are best known as the runner-up of MBS reality competition SOL SIGNAL.
According to the two members, their name symbolizes "their outstanding talents and musicality which will pique the interest of audiences regardless of nationality, making them look at their performances".
History[]
2018-2020: Pre-debut[]
Prior to the group's formation, both girls had previously been active in the entertainment industry. Yiren competed in Mnet survival audition program Produce 48 as an independent trainee in 2018 but was eliminated in the eleventh episode, finishing 28th place. Yena is a former trainee of Magic Entertainment and was intended to debut in a girl group that was named "Beeverse's New Sister Girl Group", which was ultimately cancelled and caused her to leave the company. The duo met for the first time and befriended each other in early 2020, beginning to work together on music projects.
2022: Debut with LXXK, DEEP and move to HYPE Labels[]
On January 2, 2022 PEBEL Music trademarked 'LXXK' and '눈초리'. On January 4, 2022 PEBEL Music unveiled the duo's Official Logo and Official SNS Accounts. On January 6, 2022 PEBEL Music revealed Yena and Yiren as the members of the duo. On January 7, 2022 PEBEL Music announced that the duo would be making their debut on January 10, 2022.
On January 9, 2022 PEBEL Music unveiled the teasers photo's for Yiren and Yena for their self titled debut Single "LXXK".
On January 10, 2022, LXXK released their debut single "LXXK". The song entered the top 10 of all major domestic charts and would peak at 7 on the Gaon Digital Chart. The duo would receive their first music show win in Music Rank on January 15, followed by another trophy weeks later on February 12.
On April 27, 2022 PEBEL and HYPE posted a teaser for LXXK's upcoming comeback.
On May 4, 2022 PEBEL and HYPE unveiled that LXXK would be making a comeback with their first mini album "DEEP". They revealed the album's cover and concept photo's for Yiren and Neya and that the album would release on May 20, 2022.
On July 23, 2022 It was announced that PEBEL Music Entertainment would be dissolved and that LXXK would be moved directly under HYPE Labels.
2023: LOVE SMALL[]
HYPE announced that LXXK would be releasing a special single on Valentines Day called LOVE SMALL.
On February 10, HYPE posted YENA and Yiren's concept photo's for LOVE SMALL.
