Kwon Yuseok (권유석) is a South Korean actress and model. She was a member and the leader of FIGHTERS from their debut in 2007 until their disbandment in 2014. Yuseok was signed under COFFEE Entertainment until 2014.
History[]
Early life[]
Kwon Yuseok was born on February 16th, 1988 in Busan, South Korea. Yuseok always had a love for fashion. As a child, she played with dolls a considerable amount if only just for the clothing aspect. She wanted to be a model, even from a young age. Something about the beauty of fashion interested her, and she loved it. Yuseok would dress up in frilly dresses that her parents would buy for her and be her own fashion queen.
In middle school, Yuseok's love of fashion didn't go away, but she didn't show it as outwardly. She wanted to be pretty, but felt like she would be subject to hurtful comments from other for trying to look how she wanted. Other girls in her school were called try-hards if they even attempted to be fashionable outside the norm. Yuseok just wanted to be herself.
Predebut[]
In 2002, Yuseok wanted to join a company so that she could get into the modelling industry. She joined COFFEE Entertainment, and began training as a k-pop trainee alongside modelling training. Yuseok began to develop a lot of skill in rap, despite having no interest in rap before training.
Through her years of training, Yuseok began to actually want to become a k-pop idol. She wanted to be a model too, but something about k-pop drew her in.

In 2006, COFFEE Entertainment chose Yuseok to be a member in their upcoming group. Yuseok, along with four other girls, became FIGHTERS. Through late 2006, the five girls practiced ahrd together for their debut. Yuseok, as the oldest, felt a need to be there for the other girls. She often helped them with their problems and gave them lots of hugs and support.
On February 17th, 2007, Yuseok was announced as a member of FIGHTERS.
On April 12th, 2007, Yuseok debuted as the leader, lead rapper, vocalist, and face of the group with the group's debut mini-album. While promoting, Yuseok became known for her gentle image. She often waved at fans who were taking pictures at music shows.
With FIGHTERS's first comeback, they got their first win. Yuseok gave a professional and proper speech compared to the other members, who were crying happy tears. Yuseok was happy, but she didn't want to cry in front of that many people.
In 2008, with FIGHTERS next comeback, Yuseok helped Yeohyun get into the modelling industry. Even though Yuseok still wanted to be a model, Yeohyun was the one getting brand deals, so she wanted to help her. The two spent a lot of time together, with Yuseok teaching Yeohyun about proper posing and angles. When Yeohyun's commercial deals did well, Yuseok wanted to become a model even more.
In 2009, at FIGHTERS's first concert, Yuseok made a name for herself with her performance. She put her all into performing, and went viral within FIGHTERS's fanbase.
In April 2009, FIGHTERS introduced their system of The Five Pillars of Being an Idol. Yuseok was chosen as the representative of the flexibility pillar. As the leader, she is the one who needs to do the most adapting to situations to fix problems. Yuseok embodied this in her actions, and made sure people knew why she was the representative of that pillar.
From 2010-2012, as FIGHTERS grew in popularity, Yuseok worked on fashion projects on the side. She designed a few pieces, but never tried to release them, as she needed to focus on being an idol. This love of fashion had never gone away, and Yuseok still wanted a fashion career.
In 2013, Yuseok began taking lyric writing more seriously. COFFEE Entertainment allowed her to write lyrics for other groups.
In 2014, Yuseok did not resign with COFFEE Entertainment. She wanted to have the fashion career that had been tugging on her since she was young, and being an idol wasn't going to help her with that. She loved being a part of FIGHTERS, but she also loved this.
Modelling Career, Acting Career[]
In 2014, Yuseok gained her first modelling job. She modelled for a fashion brand at a few of its shows, her years of hard work shown in her confidence. As a model, Yuseok found herself gaining more popularity. She would received hundreds of small brand deals on social media, and Yuseok tried her best to help local fashion businesses that way. Yuseok eventually became the brand ambassador for a large brand.
From 2015-2019, Yuseok's modelling career was focused on solely modelling. She was in multiple commercial deals, and modelled for many high-end fashion companies.
In 2020, Yuseok released her own line of clothing called YuSun. She was the main model for her clothing, and her lines of clothing sold relatively well due to her popularity. YuSun is mainly a women's clothing line, with sophisticated pieces at affordable prices.
In 2020 as well, Yuseok began her acting career. She was casted by a director who wanted her to play a lead role, and Yuseok leanred as much as she could about acting before filming. Yuseok's years as an idol helped, but she definitely wasn't the best actor. Nevertheless, she found it fun and kept learning. She was casted in a few other dramas, and she continued to learn.
As of now, Yuseok is modelling alongside her acting career.
