Kaisa (카이사) is a Japanese singer under Olympic Records. She is a member of CORDELIA.
She is best known for being a former member of J-pop girl groups 3EM and Heli☼sa and for being a contestant on the survival show QUEENDOM of CORDELIA.
Career[]
Pre-debut[]
In early 2015, Kaisa joined Emerald Studios as a trainee. Having been inspired by J-pop girl groups such as AKB48 and Perfume and early K-pop acts such as Cloud Nine and Snowfall, she had auditioned showcasing her vocals. Successful, she was placed on the vocal trainee track.
In 2019, following the disbandment of 3EM, she became a trainee under Olympic Records Japan following a private audition cycle. Successful once again, she was placed onto the vocal track a second time and was trained with the position of main vocalist in mind. Notably, during this trainee period, Olympic Records Japan pulled from Korean training styles, pushing her voice in the more developed, deeper tone.
In 2023, following her departure from Heli☼sa, Kaisa signed a trainee contract with Olympic Records Japan's parent company, Olympic Records. She was allocated a final time to the vocal trainee track and was assigned to the LEGACY training unit; a collection of trainees one step down from the public DEMIGXDS who's debut was all but secured and announced.
2016-2019: 3EM[]
From early 2016 until 2019, Kaisa was a member of 3EM under Emerald Studios. The group was forced to disband after three years due to the lack of financial backing.
Not long after the disbandment, Kaisa became a trainee under Olympic Records Japan.
2019: Debut with Heli☼sa[]
On June 28, Kaisa was revealed as the fourth member of the upcoming girl group Heli☼sa. She was revealed as the main vocalist and face of the group. The group would make their full debut on July 17 with the single "Sun Shine Sunshine!
2023-present: Departure from Heli☼sa, QUEENDOM of CORDELIA & CORDELIA[]
On February 6, it was reported that Kaisa had departed from Heli☼sa, citing a growing love for the K-Pop scene as a result of the group working on their debut K-Pop album. Insiders reported that she had signed a trainee contract with Olympic Records but nothing had been confirmed.
On February 9, it was confirmed that Kaisa had signed a trainee contract through internet sleuths uncovering information.
On February 26, Kaisa was revealed as a contestant on QUEENDOM of CORDELIA within the second collection of trainees. Placing second within the finale, Kaisa was able to debut with CORDELIA.
On May 26, CORDELIA made their debut with the mini-album DAWN.
Personality[]
Kaisa has been noted as being a shy and timid individual; a sharp contrast to her powerful vocals. She, by her own admission, is able to shed the quiet and demure personality she has and is able to reinvigorate herself into a highly confident performer when on stage. Subsequently, she has often been referred to as an excellent performer, something that she shies away from calling herself.
Being so quiet, however, has led her to fade into the background several times throughout her career. Had it not been for her performance skills, Kaisa is sure that people would forget she was even there. She tries hard to work on it, however putting herself out there when not on stage is something she's repeatedly struggled with. She revealed in an Instagram live that the desire to make her off-stage self as confident as her on-stage self is the reason she has no stage name;

There is a humbleness that underpins whatever she does, evidenced by the way she acts like she's living her dream and does so in a way as if someone's going to take it away from her at any moment.
