KATY (Korean: 케이티; Japanese: ケイティ) is a Japanese CEO, singer, model and dancer. She is a member of the girl group DKDK and the project girl group ALiCEDOLL.
On October 28, 2024, KATY founded LoveRail Entertainment. She is currently an idol promoting under her own company.
Early life[]
Katy was born Hata Kaede (Japanese; 秦楓) in Shizuoka, Japan on April 28, 2002 from unknown parents. She grew up upper-middle class and lived comfortable in Shizuoka until Elementary school. Before starting middle school, she and her parents moved to Tokyo to let Katy pursue a modeling career.
Career[]
2014-2019: Modeling for fashion magazines[]
Katy made her modeling debut in the March issue of 2014 for Nicola. Afterwards, she quickly became a favorite face for the magazine brand, appearing on several seasonal spreads throughout the year.
By autumn, she had walked for two underground fashion shows in Tokyo, catching the eye of a scout from a major Japanese agency. This unexpected opportunity led to her appearing in a winter editorial for VOGUE Girl Japan.
She continued making an impact on the fashion scene in Japan and internationally for 5 years as a big name in the Japanese fashion industry as a model, before retiring from modeling in 2019 to become a trainee for YW Entertainment.
2019-2020: Facing abuse under N Entertainment[]
On October 25, 2019, Katy debuted as a soloist under N Entertainment with the mini album Nostalgic Notes. During this time, Katy would face a lot of problems with the company, including physical and mental abuse from higher ups due to speaking up against the illegal actions by the CEO.
On February 15, 2020, Katy finally reported the CEO to the Korean government and sued to get her contact terminated due to workplace abuse.
Katy's contract finally got terminated on March 20, 2020, the same date the CEO of N Entertainment got arrested.
2021: Joining YW Entertainment[]
On October 25, 2021, on the 2nd anniversary of her debut, Katy released the digital single Lovemonth under YW Entertainment as a thanks to her fans for waiting for her to come back to the K-Pop industry after her hiatus. Afterwards, she put a stop to her solo activities and returned as a trainee under YW Entertainment, until joining DKDK the next year under Generation 4.
2022: Debut with DKDK, Withdrawal from DKDK[]
On August 27, 2022, Katy was revealed as a new member of DKDK Generation 4.
On September 7, 2022, Katy debuted with DKDK with their second mini-album COLORPOLIS.
On November 20 of the same year, Katy left the group after terminating her exclusive contract with YW Entertainment.
2024-2025: Founding LoveRail Entertainment, joining ALiCEDOLL & DKDK[]
After staying under the radar for about 2 years, KATY officially founded LoveRail Entertainment on October 28, 2024. According to KATY, she wanted to create a safe space for aspiring idols to debut, unlike the abusive environment she first debuted in.
In early 2025, KATY's company, LoveRail Entertainment would host its first auditions in South Korea, and later in other different countries.
On February 2, 2025, KATY was announced to be a member of ALiCEDOLL under the stage name KATiE. She joined along with SAKi.
On June 3, 2025, KATY announced that DKDK would soon be making their first official comeback under LoveRail. She went on to reveal that the group would be adding six additional members, turning it into a twelve-member group. She stated that they would be revealing members one by one in the following days, and to the surprise of many viewers, KATY revealed that the first new member would be herself.
