Jung Seokjin (정석진; or simply Seokjin) is a South Korean rapper and singer-songwriter under ANTHEATRE. He is a former member of the boy group DREADNOUGHT. He made his debut as a soloist on October 9, 2024, with the extended play SEOKJ1N.
Early life[]
Seokjin was born December 17th, 2003, in Seoul, South Korea. Coming from a fairly influential family, Seokjin was raised on an impossibly high pedestal that he was somehow meant to maintain. His mother being a talented doctor and his father being the founder of his own car dealership, coupled with the expectations he had to reach, made his life that much more difficult. The only times when he was able to escape the pressure was with friends. However as he got older, he slowly became distant from them, slowly becoming more and more reclusive overtime.
As a means of escaping the fate his parents had laid out for him, Seokjin began looking for anything that would require him to stay away from them, thus, he stumbled upon K-pop idols. He was well aware of the industry, alongside the dangers it possessed, yet had never been particularly interested. However the promise of being a trainee and being required to spend hours away from home gave him to motivation he needed to pass his audition at SHARKTOOTH and become an official trainee.
While others thrived, Seokjin did not. The entire premise of idol training was new to him, and it was becoming more and more apparent that there was a clear difference in skill between him and the other trainees. Despite this discrepancy, Seokjin became more motivated. His work eventually paid off, as he made his way up the ranks within the company’s trainee program.
Career[]
2023[]
Seokjin debuted as apart of DREADNOUGHT, revealed as the fourth member of the group.
2024[]
On July 17, 2024, SHARKTOOTH Entertainment announced that Seokjin would be permanently leaving DREADNOUGHT and terminating his exclusive contract with the agency and the group would continue their activities with the remaining six members. Following his departure, Seokjin thanked his fans by posting a letter on his Instagram account, stating that he will continue to put out music in the future on his own.
On August 12, reports stated that Seokjin had signed an exclusive contract with ANTHEATRE. This claim was later confirmed by the company themself.
He made his debut as a soloist on October 9, 2024, with the extended play SEOKJ1N. He pre-released the track Pretty Please ft. Taepoong on October 2, 2024.
On December 1, Jung Seokjin was invited and attended the 2024 Hangang Artistry Awards. He was extremely grateful to not only have been invited, but also to be nominated for Best Rap Performer and Best Hip-Hop/Rap Recording, especially on 2 months into his solo career.
Later that month, he teased his second solo project, SEOKJ2N, eventually confirming its release on January 31, with a pre-release scheduled for January 21.
Personality[]
Seokjin is best known for his almost prince-like mannerisms. Perhaps due to his upbringing, or simply as a pure result of his upbringing. He’s quite gentle, and extremely polite, often finding it difficult to drop honorifics even around people only a few months older than him. Seokjin is somewhat carefree and is also an enormous flirt. Unfortunately, this quirk of his often backfired as he gets flustered easily when complimented or flirted with back.

- Despite being told that he's a natural model and looks like one, Seokjin has absolutely no modeling experience whatsoever, however would love to try modeling in the future.
- His biggest musical inspiration is M.I.D.A.S, with him not having a set bias as he loves them all so much; a proud fan, through and through.
