Juniper Kim is an independent Korean-American solo singer, dancer, rapper. She's a former member of the girl group CSC. She made her solo debut in June 2, 2023 with "Slow Mode".
Life and career[]
2000-2020: Early Life[]
Juniper Kim or Kim Ju-Ri was born on November 11, 2000, in San Diego, USA. Her father is a neurosurgeon and her mother curates an art gallery.
As a young girl, the girl participated in child beauty and miss sympathy contests around the state. At the age of eleven, she was very successful in competitions and began to show a lot of interest in music and dance. As she was reaching the age limit of contests, she distanced herself from this scenario and started to attend contemporary dance classes.
At the age of fifteen she had her first contact with K-Pop after visiting her maternal grandparents and showed great interest in complex and synchronized choreography. At seventeen, she decided to try her hand at auditions, having moved to her grandparents' house in Korea. In November 2018, she was hired by Cube Entertainment, where she trained for nearly two years. After some disagreements with the company, however, she went looking for another company. And that's when she discovered TON Entertainment and, after an audition, became a trainee at the company in January 2020.
2020-2021: Trainee Period and Debut with CSC[]
After being introduced to "TON Girls", the project of 9ONE's younger sibling girl group, June spent six months training with five other girls from August 2020 to February 2021. After that, the group devoted themselves to producing debut album.
June collaborated in producing of the choreography for their debut tracks.
2022-present: I'm a Bad Girl Era & The First Comeback[]
After the considerable success of Run To You, the group makes their first comeback three months later, on March 21, 2022, with yet another two-track single album: I'm a Bad Girl. The album revamped the retro and fresh concept explored by the previous release, now giving a fun and magical air to the girls.
Once again, they let Juniper help with the choreography. The debut experience was like an ecstasy in her life, fulfilling her dream.
