Hancheol (Korean: 한철; Chinese: 韩铁; Japanese: ハンチョル) is a South Korean singer-songwriter under RBW Entertainment. He is best known for being a former member of LAVA.B and being a contestant on the following survival television program and reality shows, Produce X 101, and Exo Planet 999, which he went on to place ninth in the finale, making him a member of project boy group, H6bble.
Early life[]
Hancheol was born on June 26, 2001 in Incheon, South Korea. Born into a conservative family, his mother and father disliked his decision of becoming an idol. His parents deemed the idol life poor and not fit as a working job especially for their son. Despite their continuous remarks, his dream still remained strong as he prepared himself to begin a new life in the entertainment industry. His dream began at a young age when he saw multiple videos online of singers singing their entire hearts out. Soon enough, his passion and dreams grew stronger as he grew up. He would often be berated harshly by his parents to just give up and work at a local fast food restaurant with low pay. He cried frequently as a teenager since his parents would tell him "That's all you'll ever be". He was even told that he would grow up to be someone that was nothing. As a result, his mental health spiraled during his time in high school. His only way to cope with his sadness was by writing down songs or lyrics in his notebook. This would later turn into a small hobby of his since another dream he had was to produce and create music himself. His parents still heavily disliked the idea of him becoming an idol which was only fueled even more when he was accepted and began to attend Hanlim Arts High School. Despite always being told to give up all the time, he continued to preserve through the several obstacles and devote years of hard work in order to finally reach his dream.
Personality[]
Hancheol is described to be very bold and rather spontaneous, for example, he has no fear of saying what's on his mind. He's friendly but sometimes his attitude gets the best of him, he's known for having attitude issues after getting criticized once for it in some of the survival shows he was in. He's self-conscious about his attitude and he often voices his opinion about how he wants to change. Additionally, he is someone who usually relies on others for help especially when he needs to learn choreography. For this, he's still very grateful to his older members for always helping him out. Being the youngest in his group, he believes he still has a lot left to learn. To add on, he is also an excellent communicator as he is quick-witted. He'll usually be the one speaking the most in interviews because of this. Overall, he enjoys interacting with the people he keeps close to in his heart. He's determined to achieve his goals. Despite his serious personality, he's sweet with the people he cares about, often showing his affection to the other members.

Presumably after the group's disbandment, he joined RBW Entertainment and became a trainee once again.
On January 14, 2022, Hancheol was confirmed as a contestant representing K-GROUP on the upcoming South Korean reality survival show, Exo Planet 999, after being shown in the show's official teaser. This was his third participation in another survival show.
The show began broadcasting on March 1, 2022 and held its finale on May 17, 2022. He was a strong contender for the final lineup due to being known from his previous survival show and in the finale, he was revealed to have ranked ninth overall, becoming the last contestant to be announced as a member of H6bble.
On June 23, 2022, Hancheol officially debuted with H6bble as the maknae of the group with the release of their first mini album, First Launch.
