JUSAWI (hangul: 주사위, tr: 'Dice') is the fourth single by K-pop girl group The Girl. It was released on March 14, 2025 through LSG Entertainment as the lead single from their 2nd EP The Mixtape.

The track was produced by The Girl member Marina Brahimi along with LSG Entertainment CEO Lee Seo-geon, and written by all 6 members of the group.

Background[]

The single and its music video were released on March 14, 2025 with no previous teasers or promotion. The surprise release was seen by the public as a marketing tactic to display the group as unique by departing from traditional promotional measures.

"JUSAWI"'s release was preceded by a period of media scrutiny directed at The Girl and its label due to the alleged rigging and mistreatment said to have accured on the show that chose the group's new members, The Reboot. This led to a slew of criticism towards the single; despite its success, the music video had more dislikes than likes until March 18.

Composition[]

"JUSAWI" lyrically expresses The Girl's hopes and concerns about their future careers, using the phrase "roll the dice" as a metaphor for taking risks in order to succeed.

Sonically, the track is inspired by Mediterranean music as well as modern reggaeton and rap. The members cite Spanish singer Rosalia as a musical influence, whom critics noted as a clear inspiration for the EP.

Reaction[]

Critics and the public alike had mixed reactions to the single. One American music critic called the song "messy, loud & confusing" while another applauded it for its innovativeness and for bringing a fresh & unique sound to the K-pop landscape.
