Illusion (Korean: 일루전; pronounced "ill-loo-zhn") is a five-member South Korean boy group currently under M&A Entertainment. They debuted on May 7, 2021 with their first mini album Trust, and the title track "Undeniable".
History[]
2021: Pre-debut, debut with Trust, The Magic Night, first award show win, "The Magic Night: Sequel", Hallyu House Festival[]
On February 11, M&A Entertainment released a group poster with the words "coming soon from M&A Entertainment" and "illusion" across the company's social media. Following that, on April 19, M&A released the group's upcoming debut poster which revealed the faces of the group members for the very first time.
On April 21, the group's official Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and YouTube accounts were opened just after it was confirmed by M&A that the group were going to be called "Illusion". That same day, Illusion's first debut teaser was uploaded to their YouTube which included silhouettes of the five unknown members and revealed that they would debut with a mini album called "Trust".
On April 22, M&A started releasing member teaser posters across their SNS beginning with Sol. This was followed by JoE on April 23, Chanwoo on April 24, Eunsang on April 25 and Seungwon on April 26.
The group had their official debut on May 7 with their mini album named Trust.
On August 14, Illusion released their second mini album named The Magic Night.
On September 17, they attended the 1st K-Vibe Awards where they were nominated for four awards and received a win for one: the Rookie Award. This marked their first ever award show win.
On September 21, the group revealed their fandom name, Luminite.
On October 18, ARC Idol reported that the group is preparing to make another comeback in November. The following day on October 19, M&A responded by confirming these reports for the group's second comeback, which was expected for release on November 19.
On November 19, they released their first single album named The Magic Night: Sequel.
On December 17, all members attended the group's first music festival at the 2021 Hallyu House Festival.
2022: Highlight Fiesta, The Last Light, ICKMF 2022[]
On June 6, Illusion attended their second music festival at the 2022 Highlight Fiesta. All of the members partook in one of the collaboration stages—Eunsang performed on set 7 (performing ATEEZ San's parts in "Aurora") and Seungwon performed on set 15 (performing TXT Taehyun's parts in "Good Boy Gone Bad") while Chanwoo, Sol and JoE performed together on set 17 (performing Stray Kids's "Charmer").
On May 31, the members released their first studio album named The Last Light.
On August 23, all members attended the group's third music festival at the 2022 International Convention of K-Music Festival in New York, USA. They performed at 12:00PM on Day 1 with a diverse setlist and an MC dedicated to member Eunsang, as it was his birthday.
On November 23, Bang Man-sik confirmed that Illusion would be making a comeback in December. On December 12, the members will release their third mini album, PHASE: Delusion.
