Hong Jitae (홍지태) is a South Korean trainee signed to Aprica Entertainment.
He is best known for competing in the survival show MAGNET RISE.
History[]
Early Life[]
Hong Jitae was born on January 1, 2007 in Gaepo, Gangnam, Seoul, South Korea. He is the youngest child out of three, with an older brother Hong Jiwon born in 2004, and an older sister Hong Jiyoon born in 2005. His father works as is a weather man, Hong Jongseong, and his mother is a former Miss Korea contestant, Kwak Minsu.
Like his older sister he was also interested in music, and so he wanted to follow her footsteps and become an idol just like her.
So it was no surprise that when Jiyoon became a trainee he also wanted to be a trainee as well, but because of his age at the time, his parents said no.
On the eve of his 16th birthday back in 2023, he asked his parents if he can audition to which they finally said yes and as such sent in applications to several companies, but the goal for him was to always enter Aprica Entertainment -the same place his sister was training.
Joining Aprica Entertainment[]
Jitae joined Aprica Entertainment on May 28, 2023, at 16 years old, upon his addition to the company he instantly started training under the vocal position.
During his time as a trainee, he quickly flourished as a singer, verging on taking on more vocal challenging songs as he trained. Due to his skills, he was one of the four recipients for Aprica Entertainment's 'Most Improved' trainee award in 2023.
Career[]
2025: MAGNET RISE[]
On February 25, it was revealed that Jitae would be appearing in the survival show MAGNET RISE representing Aprica Entertainment.
In Episode 1, he performed Tommy Jeon's 'Dandelion', during which it was revealed he passed.
In Episode 2, he was placed in Charge Team Plus, where they would be performing 'BIBORA' by SPACESHUTTLE.
In Episode 3, his team got 3rd Place out of the 4 teams. During the elimination section, Jitae ranked at 5th Place in Charge Team Plus.
In episode Episode 4, his team performed 'TAKE MY HAND' by EPHEMERA, his team won the in-team battle.
In Episode 6, he was ranked at 6th place in Charge Team Plus.
In Episode 8, he was ranked at 4th place in Charge Team Plus.

When Jitae joined the company he was in his 1st year of high school.
As of April 2024, he is currently in his 2nd year of school school. He is enrolled into School of Performing Arts Seoul, as part of its broadcasting department.
Personality[]
Jitae is a very charming young man, like his older sister, Hong Jiyoon of VIIXEN, he has also always loved music, and growing up, he would watch her make YouTube videos and recreate her singing wanting to one day also be as dedicated as a singer like she is.
Because of this, Jitae is a very competitive person, wanting to do the best he can with what he can do, and as such, he set his mind on wanting to be a great vocalist and is working on his craft through practice and training, showcasing a strong will that most his age don't have.
Jitae is very passionate about music, and takes being an up and coming artist seriously, wanting to do his best and as such he takes his training seriously.
Jitae has a fun side to himself as well, showing a more cute side to himself to the older trainees and acts cuter when around them, being dubbed as a kitten by the others with how he gives his affection to the others. He acts his age around the other trainees closer in age to him and likes to play with them when he has the chance, showcasing a more playful side to himself.
