2020-2021: SUGAR RUSH, controversies, solo debut[]

Hikaru farewell tweet

"Hello sweeties. I am here to inform you all that I will no longer be participating in an Sugar Rush activities, as I am leaving the group. I am so sorry to anyone I may have upset with this news, but I can no longer take the hate and mistreatment I am getting by being in this group. The rumor was not true. I have noted that many of you all do not care that it is not true, and just want a reason to hate on me and that is not fair. Farewell again, Sweeties. I will miss you all."

Hikaru was the eighth member of the Japanese girl group SUGAR RUSH, but her career with them didn't last as long as she thought it would. Only a week after their debut, a rumor was spread that Hikaru and Haneul (fellow SUGAR RUSH member) were dating, and although there is nothing wrong with that, K-netizens were enraged. They refused to support Hikaru and Haneul until the rumors were debunked, and even when they were debunked, fans didn't give gifts to them during fansigns, or even look their way during fan meetings. Hikaru was often seen sad during these meetings, and she would be down the rest of the day. Shortly after, on December 13, 2021, Haneul left SR and was inactive on everything for an entire year before making her own solo debut on August 21, 2022. Following Haneul, Hikaru said her farewells in a long twitter post (as seen on the left) and officially left the group on December 16, 2021.

Shortly after, she began planning her solo debut. She didn't want to interfere with an SR music schedules, so she made sure not to set her debut on the same day as an upcoming song from them. She officially debuted on December 24, 2021 with her solo album, Karulights. On Christmas day, she released a Christmas single: "Karu-MAS" where she sang about how grateful she was for her new fans and her returning supporting fans. Both the albums and the single performed amazingly, getting over 558,000 copies sold in only a week.

Official fandom[]

On christmas day, Hikaru announced that her fandom name would be RADIANT(ORS), because her name, Hikaru, means Radiating/light. She also said that her fans are her bundles of sunshine that keep her going, that wake her up every morning. Their official colors were bright yellow and sunset orange.

Personal Life[]

It was officially announced by JME that HIkaru and Matthew of Be:FOUR were dating as of March 23, 2022. There was been no break up announcement since then.
