Hestiara (stylised alternatively as HESTIARA and hestiara; Korean: 헤스티아라) is a seven-member K-Pop girl group under Olympic Records and The Pink Label. They debuted on August 23, 2023, with the mini album GO IN.

Concept[]

Name[]

The name Hestiara is a portmanteau of Hestia, Ancient Greek Goddess of the Hearth and Tiara.

2023: Group Formation & Pre-Debut[]

During the 2023 Olympic Records Conference, CEO Shin Mae-Geun announced that newly acquired subsidiary, The Pink Label, would be debuting their flagship girl group within the year. The team, aimed to be a sister group to Olympic Records' own new girl group, would be a joint venture. When asked to describe what the joint venture would look like, Shin explained that The Pink Label would oversee the day to day management of the group but Olympic Records itself would handle the administrative aspect of the group more closely than other sub-label artists. Netizens at the time speculated that, in an effort to establish another successful label, Olympic Records would transfer some of their trainees to the subsidiary.

Configurations regarding the girl group that would become Hestiara began in 2021, two years from The Pink Label's last debut, NVRLND. CEO and founder Gim Iseul had envisioned a thirteen membered girl group and had high aspirations for achieving similar success to labelmate Moon. Plans were halted, however, in light of accruing more funds in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic; existing artists were prioritised and the debut was delayed, leading many of the female trainees to leave the label. By the end of 2022, artists of The Pink Label had either disbanded or sought new agencies, leading to the company being acquired by Olympic Records. CEO Gim Iseul resumed talks with Shin Mae-Geun regarding the debut of a girl group. Together, both planned a seven-member team that would serve as the label's new flagship group to replace Moon. Seeing potential in the label and aiming to avoid bankruptcy, Shin Mae-Geun pitched that the venture would be joint in order to ensure stability.

On July 23, seven female trainees had been spotted attending the early preview showcase for After School Club's Fun.exe. This, having been the fourth time the same group of trainees had been spotted together, led to rumours that the septet were to be The Pink Label's debut girl group.

The following day, on July 24, the first member, Miae, was revealed - confirming the rumours. On July 25, member Akari was revealed. The third member, Hyeryeong, was revealed on July 26. Fourth member, Insara, was revealed on July 27. On July 28, fifth member Abbie was revealed. Danica, the sixth member, was revealed on July 29. The line-up was rounded off with the seventh member, Nyssa, who was introduced on July 30.

Hestiara Miae Reveal

Miae, born Yoon Mi-Rae, was the first member introduced on July 24, 2023. Miae successfully auditioned for Vistamp Entertainment in early 2020 and, in December, she was revealed as a member of the pre-debut trainee team Vistamp Rookies. In 2023, she debuted in the company's newest girl group, SAPPHIRA, serving as its leader, main dancer, lead vocalist, rapper, visual, producer and center. Upon the group's disbandment on May 3, 2023, Miae joined Olympic Records and was later introduced as a member of the pre-debut trainee team DEMIGXDS on May 27.

She was transferred to The Pink Label in late June as the debut lineup of Hestiara was configured further. Wanting to capitalise on the popularity Mirae held from SAPPHIRA but knowing that entry into CORDELIA or the debut of another girl group solely under Olympic Records was not possible, Shin Mae-Geun suggested her for the lineup.

Hestiara Akari Reveal

Akari, born Yamada Akari, was the second member introduced on July 25, 2023. She is a former trainee under Vistamp Entertainment, often being of the interest to netizens for her dancing abilities. She also trained at Big Planet Creative Japan. Originally being a pre-debut member of SAPPHIRA but being cut just before debut, Akari joined Olympic Records in January 2023. Alongside Miae, she was introduced as a member of the pre-debut trainee team DEMIGXDS on May 27.

She was transferred to The Pink Label in early June as one of the principle members of Hestiara at the request of The Pink Label CEO Gim Iseul. On a visit to the Olympic Records trainee facilities, Gim Iseul observed Akari's monthly dance examination (her first, no less) and was impressed by her strong yet fluid movements. Eager to establish Hestiara as a group with equal parts competent vocalists and dancers, Iseul sought Maegeun for a transfer.

Hestiara Hyeryeong Reveal

Hyeryeong, born Sang Hye-Ryeong, was the third member introduced on July 26, 2023. She initially joined Olympic Records as a trainee in 2020 after passing an online audition. She was considered heavily as a member of After School Club but was passed over in favour of Strawberry, CEO Shin Maegeun citing that Hyeryeong required more training. In February 2023, Hyeryeong was announced as a contestant on QUEENDOM of CORDELIA, Olympic Records' premier survival show to find the members of its latest girl group. Hyeryeong placed 11th in the finale, having become a fan favourite in the second half of the show.

On April 4, she was announced as a member of the pre-debut trainee group DEMIGXDS. She was transferred to The Pink Label in mid-July 2023, being the final of the members to join the company. Her transfer came at the identification that the group needed a visual who was familiar with the public and was someone that many were eager to see debut. In a similar vein to fellow member Miae (not being able to join CORDELIA/debut in a new girl group for some time), Hyeryeong was transferred to the subsidiary.

Hestiara Insara Reveal

Insara, born Kim In-Sa-Ra, was the fourth member introduced on July 27, 2023. She joined Olympic Records as a trainee in 2015, passing auditions for various other companies. Prior to her signing, she had been introduced to the underground rap scene by her older siblings and was planning to debut within it herself. However, like many her age, Insara had developed a love for K-Pop and aspirations to create music soon shifted in that direction. She neither joined DEMIGXDS nor participated in QUEENDOM of CORDELIA, out of wanting to stay disassociated with Olympic Records until her debut (that is, not wanting to be seen as a former Olympic trainee). She was transferred to The Pink Label in late May under the recommendation of Shin Maegeun herself who wanted Insara to be the experienced leader the group needed.

Hestiara Abbie Reveal

Abbie, born Abigail Kim, was the fifth member introduced on July 28, 2023. She joined The Pink Label as a trainee in December 2020, being of the only three trainees to remain with the company through its acquisition by Olympic Records. She is a former trainee under Fashion Enterprises Entertainment, having joined the company in 2018, and participated in Find Your Game; the survival show that would form IMPGS. Placing eighteenth, she was unable to secure her place within the debuting line-up and later left the company.

Since the COVID-19 pandemic, Abbie has posted frequently onto TikTok under her username bibiki and has accrued a following for her vocal abilities.

Hestiara Danica Revea

Danica, born Danica Seo, was the sixth member introduced on July 29, 2023. She was a contestant on Girls Planet 999, making it to the final, occupying the K08 cell and being unable to debut in the finale group. She had previously found some stardom through her K-Pop dance covers posted to her TikTok account. In early 2022 she was scouted by The Pink Label and began her formal idol training.

Hestiara Nyssa Reveal

Nyssa, born Nyssa Park, was the seventh member introduced on July 30, 2023. She joined The Pink Label as a trainee in early 2022 after being scouted through her local K-Pop cover group.

2023: Debut with GO IN[]

On August 10, a graphic was posted to The Pink Label's social media accounts indicating the group's debut.

On August 23, the group made their debut with the mini album GO IN, headed by title track "Kick Start."

2024: Nyssa's Hiatus & Departure, Addition of Hyunrin, One Year Anniversary Special Single, Court of Titania[]

On July 26, The Pink Label announced that member Nyssa would be going on a hiatus due to health reasons.

On August 7, The Pink Label announced Nyssa's departure from the group. In the same announcement, it was revealed that a new member would be joining the group in Nyssa's place with the departing idol having chosen her successor. Hestiara was confirmed to be making a surprise comeback on their one year anniversary.

On August 8, Hyunrin was revealed as the replacement member.

On September 15, it was announced that the group would make their comeback on October 4 with the full album Court of Titania.
