Heaven's Entertainment (헤븐스 엔터테인먼트) is a South Korean multinational entertainment company established in 2009 by two siblings, record executive, and record producer Kang Hyunwoo and Kang Yeona. The company operates as a record label, talent agency, music production company, event management company, concert production company, and music publishing house. The company also operates two subsidiaries Neverland Entertainment, and 4H Record, and is also a heavy investor in entertainment company 24D Entertainment.
Heaven's Entertainment is known for involving its artists in the creative process of making their music, including songwriting, composition, arrangement, production, and choreography. Another signature of Heaven's is how they design fictional concepts for their artists. The label represents artists such as 6topia, NAIAD, and HARAM. It also manages actors, including Takanashi Isamu and Vera Erdenebat. Other notable artists include RED under Neverland.
History[]
2004-2008: Pre-formation and backstory[]

Z Entertainment
Heaven's Entertainment's establishment dates back to 2004 when the enterprise was still a mere idea pitched by one of the future CEOs, Kang Hyunwoo. At that time, he was still one of the main producers of Z Entertainment which is owned by his long-time friend Kim Dongchul. Together with his co-workers, they released hit songs for Z Entertainment's artists, bringing the company's artists into the mainstream. However, behind every success are secrets, scandals, and the unexposed dark side of the company that Hyunwoo could not bear. The year was 2003 when the company's policy was amended after its rise in the industry. Since most producers work directly under Z, the company conveniently decreased the royalty that flows through their songs to be distributed more to idols without participating in the songwriting process. According to Hyunwoo's observation as an insider, the motive behind this new policy was to exploit their idols to work harder to bring more income to the company. With the promises of rising income, CEO Dongchul forced artists under him to tighten their schedules and work their asses off. Although Hyunwoo was disheartened by Dongchul's character switch and absolute tyranny, he couldn't do much as Dongchul was blackmailing to end his career. Hyunwoo devised a plan to his colleague WoodVALE, his sister Yeona, and one of the most renowned idols from Z Entertainment's girl group Maim, Lee Eunbi, about quitting Z and establishing their own company. Eunbi had a fair share of mistreatment by the agency as they constantly rejected the songs she wrote for her group. The four agreed and lay low until the preparation and timing were ripe.
4 years later, Hyunwoo and woodvale officially resigned from Z Entertainment. They were followed by Eunbi, who terminated her contract with the agency to follow in the former two's footsteps as a producer. Together with her sister, Yeona, Hyunwoo founded Heaven's Entertainment on March 10, 2009. Meanwhile, Dongchul was devastated that his best artists ran away from him. Knowing his looming doom would come soon if he let Hyunwoo out in the wilds, he kept a close eye on their activity and would do anything to lead them to a fall.
2009-2014: First formation[]

Kang Hyunwoo and Yeona, founders of Heaven's
The founding of Heaven's was always meant to heal the traumatized former Z Entertainment artists, so they followed that foundation from their humble beginning to the present. In the same year of its establishment, Heaven's launched both domestic and international auditions for male trainees. They would be trained together to debut as a boy group. At the same time, the label also opened audition for young producers to join their production team. Hyunwoo's vision was to create a 5 member boy group who are given artistry freedom and participation in creating their own music alongside the agency's producers. Jang Kwangseon became the first fixed member and was chosen as the group's future leader, then Shin Geon came along through the audition. The other three members, Amano Reo, Maxwell Wongsiriporn, and Zhang Enlai, went through the international online audition and eventually trained together with Jack and Geon. Shirogane Haku, who was initially signed as a trainee producer, was convinced to switch careers and trained as an idol instead alongside five other boys. Heaven's Entertainment debuted their first boy group and artist overall, 6topia, on February 14, 2014, with the single album Human Nature.
2014-2016: Hardships[]
In the first two years of their career, both Heaven's and 6topia faced constant hardships, as expected.
- Constantly on a budget
Heaven's goal is to preserve and present the art crafted by 6topia to its maximum potential, so they have a decent CGI for their MVs, high-quality equipment to produce their music, etc. However, that comes with a price. From 2013-2015, they had to live in an All-Members-Sleep-in-One-Room dorm. It was a bit narrow space for 6 people to co-exist, but they survived thanks to their strong bonds and the mindset that they would eventually move out to a better dorm. The members were grateful that Heaven's did not ask them to pay off their trainee debt, as the CEOs mentioned how their idols and trainees are priceless investments of the label. A few blocks from their dorm is Heaven's Entertainment office, situated on the third floor of an old building which was shared with other businesses.
- Nobodies
6topia was a flop and remained nugu after almost 2 years of debut. Yes, their Dystopia Trilogy attracted quite a few loyal fans, but they still needed more for 6topia to make their name bigger in the competitive industry. Heaven's suspected that their genre, pop rock with a mix of hip-hop, was not popular among the general public of Korea, so they suggested the boys try a new genre. They agreed to do so—but only by retaining their original sound and concept. 6topia saw the light of success with their debut album, Never After, but that was when their old and secret dispute with Z Entertainment resurfaced and saw its peak.
With their revenue grew slowly but surely in 2016, Heaven's Entertainment debuted one of their producers, HARAM, as an indie and ballad singer on October 24. (Details TBA)
2017-2018: Mainstream breakthrough and international recognition[]
6topia's popularity grew steady after 2017. The group would rise to fame in just three years of debuting and had commercial success throughout Asia especially. Their second repackaged album, -New Game-, was their first album to have a cumulative sales of over 1 million copies in more than eight countries. Their song "Please Insert Coin" (2017) gained sudden popularity on YouTube due to a viral dance challenge featuring the song created by Angela Kim, a Korean-American high school gym teacher. It became popular among elementary and high schoolers due to its catchy tune and easy-to-follow choreography, where many uploaded their version of the dance challenge to their SNS accounts. As a result of its initial traction, "Please Insert Coin" returned to chart numerous digital platforms in Korea, such as Melon, Genie, Bugs, Mnet, and Naver. In the United States, the song was promoted to radio by Heaven's Entertainment due to popular demand. Thanks to 6topia, Heaven's grew astronomically in parallel, and their shares soared like no one could imagine.
In May 2018, Heaven's debuted NAIAD, their first girl group. (Details TBA)
2019: Controversies and dispute with Z Entertainment[]
Over the years, nasty rumors spread around the internet encircling Heaven's Entertainment.
- Rumor #1: Heaven's was accused by K-netz of overworking their idols. The label tends to refuse freelancer producers to work for them (due to budget issues), so the work directly goes under Heaven’s producers and the producer line of 6topia. Adding the production work on top of their busy schedule, K-netz perceives this as Heaven’s enslaving their idols.
- Rumor #2: Debuting haku. as the assigned sob story icon. People discovered haku.'s sad past not long after he debuted, and the information that he wasn't supposed to debut with 6topia. People theorized that haku. was used to attract pity from the general public so they could pity buy and listen to their music.
- Problem #3: 6topia debuted too many foreigners. 4/6 in total. At that time, Koreans preferred domestic idols, which indirectly caused popularity problems for the group. Espada and Max especially experienced relentless cyberbullying after they were caught speaking in Chinese when they were invited to a local variety show.
The Burning of Heaven's[]
In June 2019, the building where Heaven's HQ was situated was burned down. The burning of Heaven's HQ essentially ruined the company; they had to halt the production process for 6topia's albums and were forced to delay all schedules for 6topia. Although most valuable data and documents were kept safe by the staff, some were permanently unsalvageable, including dozens of songs prepared by 6topia members and producers for their upcoming comebacks. Fortunately, no one was injured as the building was burned down during the company's off day. The CEOs Kang Hyunwoo and Yeona made an appearance in an official press on June 11, 2019, announcing 6topia would be on an indefinite hiatus. They sent their artists back to their hometowns to rest and recover from the mental strain and shock caused by the incident. They mentioned it would take some time for the company to recover financially and to their regular operation.
The news of the Heaven's Building fire shocked Korea and the world. Many people, fans of Heaven's groups or not, visited the site to express their condolences by scattering flowers and leaving sticky notes and small letters to show that people, especially Utopians/Dianas/Heavenlies, would continue to support them and wait for their return.
In the meantime, several investigations of the fire incident were conducted by the police. The fire's point of origin was in the kitchen area of the building, where police theorized that a dropped cigarette may have ignited a combustible. All Heaven's staff, including 6topia members, were questioned by the police. The result, however, is nihil, as everyone mentioned that they did not come to the office at all at the time of the fire's first spark. Even the salvaged CCTV footage supported everyone's testimony, as nobody was shown entering the office, let alone the kitchen area. The investigation went null for at least another five months until the true culprits themselves revealed the truth.
The Climax[]

In June 2018, a mysterious Twitter user @DystopianDespair uploaded a massive thread of tweets exposing Lee Dongchul, the CEO of Z Entertainment, as the mastermind of several crimes against Heaven's Entertainment and 6topia.
- Dongchul paid media to manufacture lies about how Heaven's mistreated their artists in 2014 and 2015.
- He also bribed several K-pop variety shows to prohibit 6topia from promoting their albums in the show.
- Aftermath: The three shows that received the bribing stopped airing a few months after the exposed tweets were uploaded. It was reported that Knetz spammed their SNS with relentless threats before the shutdowns.
- @DystopianDespair, through their power of hacking, managed to retrieve the one CCTV footage where it caught the arson behind the burning of Heaven's office sneakily entering the kitchen area and setting up the fire.
- Aftermath: The identity of the arson was also revealed by the mysterious hacker, and the police took haste in arresting the suspected arson. They came clean upon the interrogation, stating that Lee Dongchul hired his service to set up Heaven's office ablaze. To enter the building, he also stole one of Heaven's staff ID cards.
- The threat also revealed Lee Dongchul's tyranny over his own artists. The mistreatment of Z Entertainment idols scandals went viral like an open floodgate in South Korea, and the police had to conduct official investigations.

Lee Dongchul losing his mind after he was found guilty of all charges.
This revelation soon brought Lee Dongchul to trial. Long story short, Dongchul was found guilty of multiple charges and sentenced to prison (note: Since I am not familiar with South Korea's legal law, let's just say that this guy has been locked up behind bars for a very, very long time) in the Fall of 2019. Another great result of the trial was all of Dongchul's wealth was to be donated to Heaven's Entertainment as compensation for the damage caused by the burning of Heaven's office. Heaven's decided to build a new office, more magnificent and grand compared to the old one, and the staff officially moved in from their temporary office to the current Heaven's HQ in December 2021. It took 2 whole years for the company to recover to their normal operation. Meanwhile, losing their reputation after their CEO was imprisoned, Z Entertainment's artists were either disbanded or transferred to be managed by other companies. The agency itself was shutdown in early 2020.
Until this day no one knows the true identity behind @DystopianDespair, as they remained anonymous through the entire event. However, they are always remembered by the books as a legendary figure that help Heaven's Entertainment to break the chain of Lee Dongchul's curse.
2020–present: Further success, expansion and subsidiary labels[]
In May 2022, Heaven's Entertainment became the majority shareholder of 4Bloc Music, and the acquisition was officially announced in June. The label will retain its independence, but its roster of artists will now have wider promotions in South Korea and beyond. The agency also acquired 4H Records in the same month. As one of Heaven's sub-label, 4H Records manages their singer-songwriters and producers.
In 2022, Heaven's became one of the top five largest entertainment companies in South Korea after their total wealth surpassed StarLight Entertainment thanks to the success of 6topia and NAIAD, and the acquisition of 4Bloc Music, home to successful artists including SOLVIZ and Sangwon, an ex member of their legendary disbanded 2nd gen group FINEKIZ.
In August 2023, Heaven's Entertainment became the label's majority stakeholder, however, the label continues to operate independently. One of the long time record producers of Heaven's, Iron Maiden, joined the company to become its inside director.
