Han Haneul (Korean: 한하늘) is a South Korean dance trainee under LILAC Studios.
Personal life[]
Haneul was born on October 26, 2002 in Seongdong-gu, Seoul, South Korea, to a Korean father and a Korean mother in an upper middle class household. His mother started working as a flight attendant a few years after his younger sister was born, meanwhile his father has run his family's sportswear store for as long as he could remember, while also working as a baseball coach. Knowing of his father's passion for baseball ever since he was young, Haneul took an early liking towards baseball, even joining his middle school's baseball team.
In 2014, Haneul came across ARCANE. At the time, he was starting middle school and since it had already been a year since ARCANE's debut, his classmates were constantly bringing them up. Haneul eventually became very interested in the group after watching their dance practice videos. Later in 2014, he and his younger sister were gifted a portable karaoke machine for Christmas. Along with ARCANE, the karaoke machine was the other reason that he started becoming interested in singing, and the idol industry.
He graduated in 2021 at Somteul Vocal School.
Career[]
2021–2022: Project Euphoria, missed debut[]
On October 27, 2021, it was confirmed that he would join Project Euphoria as a contestant. On the show's final episode, it was announced that he garnered 130,367 votes throughout the whole show and placed 16th overall, unfortunately unable to join IMMORPHIA's debut lineup.
On July 5 and 6, 2022, LILAC teased and introduced their first ever artist, MERAVI. Haneul was heavily suspected to have been part of the lineup after Jianyu's reveal—since the two were seen as very close friends during Project Euphoria. However, after the final member announcement, Haneul revealed that he was cut from the lineup last minute due to the group's and his own artistic directions causing conflict.
2023: Star Maker: The Revolution[]
On March 20, he was confirmed to be joining Star Maker: The Revolution as a contestant representing LILAC Studios. It was shared that he joined the show to prove that he is "...an artist that should be respected..." and that he isn't "...a bad person, as some assume." However, the show was cancelled, hence Haneul returned to his training.
2024: Find Your DREAM[]
On June 23, Haneul was confirmed to be joining Find Your DREAM as a contestant representing LILAC Studios.
Personality[]
Haneul is quite the dramatic and sassy person. He's very blunt and can even be aggressive at times, but he's fiercely loyal to those he trusts and is basically the type who'd risk anything for them (like his closest friends, Lin Jianyu and Kang Yuchan). Regardless of his short temper, he is diligent and hard-working—always striving to put in as much effort into whatever he's doing. When it comes to constructive criticism, he handles it well if it's from seniors or people he respects, but can definitely get salty if the criticism is given by other people in the same boat as him.

- Nicknames: Lilac Sky, Mr Grumps, LILAC's #1 Karaoke Star.
- "Mr Grumps" is a nickname which was given by Kang Yuchan. To present day, Yuchan still refers to Haneul with this nickname.

- He considers himself quite the coffee lover, with a particular taste for frappuccinos.

- Because of this, others find it hard to believe that he is also an avid girl group listener.
- He enjoys going karaoke-ing with his younger sister.
- The portable karaoke machine he and his sister were gifted with in 2014 was how the two of them became karaoke buddies.
- When he was younger, his wish was to become a pilot so he could be a part of letting people go to destinations they have never seen before.
