Sun Hae-Won (순해원), known as Haewon (해원), is South Korean singer, songwriter and actress, member of AREAL (애릴), girl group under Luna Entertainment.

Background

Haewon was born on January 22, 2002 in Seoul, in middle-class family which lived in city's suburbs. There, Haewon was student of local, small primary school. During her 1st stage of education she wasn't giving any signs of k-pop or musician career potential, because back then, her biggest dream was to be an actress. Haewon was attending a lot of school activities releated to her hobby, for example she was playing in lots of school plays and was attending a lot for acting-releated activities. Everything started to change when Haewon was 12 years old, when her friend introduced her music video of some k-pop group. Haewon quickly get interested in it, many friends also were encouraging her to start practising her singing, because of her very good vocal skills, which she was using during her plays and were appreciated by everyone. That was the moment, when she started to seriously think about changing her career plans from acting to singing. Haewon also homeschooled herself in singing and uploaded covers of popular asian and western artists's songs on her social media, which gave her a lot of positive feedback of her vocal talent and a lot of attention, resulting in much followers. When Haewon finally was ready to do the next step for her goal, in 2016 she got information about Luna Entertainment's trainee auditions and, of course, decided to apply being certain of her singing skills. Despite having no professional training in singing and dancing, Haewon got accepted and started her 4 -year training period as 14 years old. On August 1, 2020, Haewon debuted as main vocalist and leader of girl group AREAL (애릴).

Career

Just like other members of her group, Haewon is also a songwriter. Since May 5, 2020 (pre-debut) to this day she is one of presenters in TOP ICON, together with rm8z's Eunhyun, who she's friends with. On October 23, 2020 she made her acting debut in "9 Years Later" drama. On January 8, 2021 she was also guest host of 132nd episode of Resident Idol, together with Sally and TRØX's Saetang. On April 1, 2022 she recived an Actress of The Year award on Plum Awards Show. On December 29th Haewon was announced as new host of The Core Music Show, together with Takanashi Isamu.

• When her trainer found out that she was vocal self-learn, she was surprised
• She is close friends with Seoyeon and Misun
  • But as she says "AREAL is one big family, everyone is important for her"
• She admits, that sometimes she's a bit overprotective about her groupmates
• In pre-debut interview, she said that leader probably will be Misun, she was shocked when company picked her
• Because of being leader and having good leadering skills, she's often called "Captain Sun" by her groupmates
• She's used to be dating OKTA's Zeya, they broke up in February 2022
