Kwak Woo-jae better known by his stage name H—DY, is a South Korean rapper. In 2023, he signed with Big Break Records. He is set to make his debut with his first mixtape in late August.

Early life[]

Woo-Jae was born in Changwon, South Korea to a poor family. His father divorced his mother a couple months after his eighth birthday, when his father left his mother got a job at a local shopping mall and they managed to live a average life from then on. At the age of seventeen Woo-Jae discovered his love for song-writing, producing and rapping after listening to k-pop groups SOLVIZ and 7pm, a couple years later he started to release music on SoundCloud under the name H—DY, his music became quite popular and he was considered a young prodigy.

In 2022 after scouting for new potential artists Big Break Records noticed Woo-Jae's music and approached him with an offer to audition, his audition went flawlessly and he was offered a contract to sign under the label which he took. In 2023 he was revealed to be the next artist under the label and it was revealed that he would be making his debut in late August.

He hopes to be an inspiration to young artists that come from unfortunate backgrounds and he also plans to use the money he makes from his career to help provide for his mother.

H—DY is known for his fast raps and lyrical talent. He says that he wants all of his songs to have a deeper meaning behind them.
