Girls' Fantasy (소녀 판타지) is an Large-Scale South Korean Survival-Reality Show focused on forming a global sensation girl group. Created by Lim Changsun, Go Eunram and Jang Ayeon, the show is scheduled to air in early 2023 in TMT.
It is an indirect sequel to the survival show Dawn of Teenagers. A sequel Girls' Fantasy 2, is currently planned for 2024.
Concept[]
Girls' Fantasy focuses on female contestants from the ages of 16 and up who have dreamt to make their debut as successful idols. The girls are send onto a training camp called "fantasy land" and would be showcasing their talent on different exciting stages until the final group debuts with an undisclosed number of members so far.
Over 9600 applications were sent and 50 trainees were selected through multiple rounds of auditions.
History[]
On January 9, 2023, TMT uploaded the signal song performance "Girls' Fantasy - '너의 판타지 (Be Your Fantasy)' Performance M/V" on their YouTube channel with all 50 trainees taking part on it. That same day the profiles were revealed on the official website girlsfantasy.co.kr.
The next day it was revealed that the show would be starting on January 27, 2023 and would consist of weekly episodes with March 31, 2023 being the finale.
On May 1, 2023, TMT revealed that Girls' Fantasy would be returning for a second season, scheduled for early 2024. They announced that auditions would be opened from June 1 to July 24, 2023.
