Geunbi (근비), also known as BI (비), and formerly Miji (미지), is a South Korean singer-songwriter, and actress under Highline Media. She is a former member of Record of Girls and a former member of the pre-debut self composing girl group YJSY.
She is currently active as a soloist under the name BI. She made her solo debut on May 21, 2021, with the studio album Cherries.
Career[]
2020-2021: YJSY[]
Under the name Miji, she was revealed as a member of the self-composing girl group YJSY under Tteok Entertainment during a concert. Miji originally wanted to debut as an actress, but decided to try the idol life, as said by herself at an interview.
Along with Yoonbin, Chaeseol, and Chobyeol, she departed from the group sometime in 2021. However, she remained under the company.
2022: Solo debut, Record of Girls[]
Sometime in May of 2022, she revealed she was debuting as a soloist under the name BI, and would be releasing her first studio album, composed by her, titled Cherries. The album was to contain 14 songs, all composed by BI herself. The album was eventually released on May 21st, with "Cherries" serving as the album's title track. A b-side, titled "Under the Moon" was also promoted. After her promotions ended, her profile was deleted on Tteok's website, silently confirming her departure from the company
Later in August of 2022, she joined the girl group Record of Girls after the departure of Eunsuk. The group disbanded 2 months later due to internal issues.
2023: Neighborhood[]
On January 1, using her name Geunbi, while also promoting with BI, she revealed her second album titled Neighborhood with 12 songs, marking her first album as a indie soloist. The album was solely composed and funded by herself, with the help of ex-YJSY members Eun-Show and Chobyeol.
2024-present: LIL'EVER[]
On April 30, Geunbi was announced as a member of LIL'EVER.
