Kim Geonu (Korean: 김건우), known professionally as just Geonu (건우), is a Korean-American singer-songwriter, composer, actor and CEO. He made his solo debut on February 21, 2015 with the digital single "Untied Knots ".
On February 21, 2022, He officially discontinued his idol career after concluding his seven-year contract with his final studio album, ENCORE
On August 3, 2023, it was announced that he established NAMINU Label , a subsidiary under FI Entertainment .
Personal life [ ] Geonu was born on August 3, 1997 in Dongnae-gu, Busan, South Korea to a Korean father and a Korean mother. At the age of one, he and his parents moved to Illinois, Unites States—in the city of Chicago.
Other Ventures [ ] Endorsements [ ] In October 2016, Geonu received his first endorsement after being appointed as a model for the American perfume brand, CLEAN.
Philanthropy [ ] On April 7, 2019, Geonu donated ₩20,000,000 to the Hope Bridge Association of the Natural Disaster Relief in order to support the victims of the Goseong wildfire. On August 3, 2022, his 25th birthday , Geonu donated ~₩3,200,000 (~AUD$3,300) to CBM Australia after hearing the organisation was celebrating 10 years of Miracles Days. His donations resulted in 100 Miracles, each Miracle helping to restore sight for a person with cataracts.
