GIRLNEXTDOOR (Korean: 걸넥스트도어; Japanese: ガールネクストドア; also abbreviated as GND) is a 5-members South Korean girl group under ADRB. They made their debut June 5, 2024, with their first single album Express.
History[]
Pre-Debut[]
On Mid 2022, ADRB was officially established. On August 13, 2022, The label announced that they would be holding online and in-person auditions for their upcoming project. The audition "BECOME ADRB" was held from August 15, 2022 till September 15, 2022.
On May 31, 2023, ADRB announced that they're in preparations to debut their first ever girl group from the agency. In the statement they said that the group's debut is scheduled for early 2024, though everything is yet to be determined.
On September 1, 2023, ADRB revealed four trainees that are selected members of the agency's first girl group. Kikuri, Leena, Seoyoung and Hami alongside their profiles respectively.
Debut[]
On January 1, 2024, ADRB posted the first teaser for the group "Will you recognize me?". In an article published later that day, it was revealed that the group will soon be revealed and they're preparing for their release "Recognition". In another article published on January 30, 2024, it was revealed that the group consists of 6 members in total that would be revealed soon after the group's name reveal.
On February 12, 2024, the group name was officially revealed to be GIRLNEXTDOOR. shortly after the members were revealed all at once starting from oldest to youngest: Kikuri, Youn, Leena, Seoyoung, Hami, Yeongsoo.
On March 1, 2024, a sub-unit featuring 3 members Youn, Leena and Hami going by the name PurpleHoodie was revealed. The unit would release a digital single TLDR on March 11, 2024.
On March 19, 2024, ADRB revealed that Yeongsoo would be leaving the group after reaching mutual agreements to terminate her contract. The agency also revealed that GIRLNEXTDOOR will continue promotions as a 5-piece girl group, they also hinted that they are currently filming the M/V for the group's debut.
On May 6, 2024, ADRB revealed that GIRLNEXTDOOR will make their awaited debut with their first single album Express with "Recognition" being the lead single out of the three tracks. The single is set for release on June 5, 2024.
On September 30, 2024, ADRB posted the scheduler for GIRLNEXTDOOR's first comeback with their first digital single "copy-cat". The single would be released on October 16, 2024.
On March 24, 2025, ADRB announced that GIRLNEXTDOOR would be making a comeback with their first mini album "Little by Little". The mini would be released on April 16, 2025.
