Following her role in the drama, she featured in many commercials, with a large percentage of those being with her brother. By early 2015, Dahyun had built a large fanbase of tween and teenage girls in South Korea, making her a notable figure. Dahyun's first major role was the movie Flippin' It, a movie about a junior gymnastics team. While the movie was an ensemble cast of other teen and child actors, Dahyun was the main focus of the movies advertising due to her fanbase, with posters usually displaying her in the center, or on her own. The movie was a success both in the box office and in its merchandising, which featured photos of the cast including Dahyun. Following the movie, her parents made the decision to take both her and her brother out of the industry for a while as they felt that they were missing out on their childhood, and being overworked. During this hiatus, they both opened their own Instagram accounts.
