Cloud Aura (Hangul: 구름손녀, Guleum sonyeo), is a 6-member project girl group under PHX Entertainment, currently in an indefinite hiatus. They debuted as six on April 17, 2022 with the mini album "CLOUD 6 : Chapter *". Every girl, before their debut, signed a 2-year contract, and after the expiration date the company will decide whether to give the members a chance of renewal or not.
History[]
Pre-debut (2019-2022)[]
On July 6, 2019 PHX Entertainment revealed that they would reveal their upcoming girl group soon.
On July 11, Instagram and Twitter accounts for the group, called "Cloud Aura", were opened, and from July 12 to July 18 every member was revealed in this order: Yubin, Aeri, Kira, Chaebin, HeYun, Darin, Emiko. Since that day, the girls started being very active and gained a modest but strong following.
On July 28, Cloud Aura revealed that their fanbase name would be "CLOUDiE" and that their representative colors would be peach cream and cloud blue.
On October 7, they released their first pre-debut digital single, "Lovely Girl". It was followed by a second digital single, "Kiss Me", that was released on February 14, 2020 and a third digital single, "Bees", on June 1.
On March 11, 2021 member Emiko announced her official departure from the group due to her contract expiring.
Only a week later, in occasion of St. Patrick's Day, the new member Momoka was introduced, and on the same day a remix of "Lovely Girl" featuring Momoka's vocals instead of Emiko's was released.
The group started promoting as a modelling group on April, and due to PHX Entertainment being focused on their new rookie group SWAN their debut was delayed to 2022.
On August 31, 2021 PHX's CEO and founder Park Dae-Hyun revealed that Cloud Aura was recording songs for their first mini album, that would debut in 2022 and that they would have at least one comeback on the same year.
In October, it was revealed that members Darin and Momoka would join the survival shows Afterschool Girls and Hidden Gems. In January 2022, Momoka was again announced as contestant on the survival show Star Maker 101, along with Yubin.
On December 7, 2021 the first episode of the drama The Youth's Genesis aired, in which Kira potrays the role of the leader of the bully gang.
On January 25, 2022 PHX Entertainment representative Man Dal-seong stated in a press conference regarding the group's future that they were ready to debut. He also said that Cloud Aura's first album is completed. On the same day, it was also announced that member HeYun sadly had to go on hiatus because of a backbone pain that lead her to be hospitalized. She also posted a letter for her fans on all her SNS, reading:
Hello, I am HeYun of Cloud Aura.
Painfully, I have to tell you that I'll be going on hiatus from the group's activities. I have been suffering of backbone pain for a long time, and this has compromised both my daily and trainee activities. Until I fully recover I can't be active in the group. Please, keep on supporting the girls that are working hard to debut, and also look forward my future. I hope to see many of you supporting both me and Cloud Aura.

Debut with "CLOUD 6 : Chapter *" and Japanese debut (2022)[]
On April 2, after more than 2 months of no news on an eventual debut, it was announced that Cloud Aura's debut mini album "CLOUD 6 : Chapter *" would've been released on April 17. Prior to the release of the mini album, a teaser for each member and 3 MV teasers were published.
On April 10, the pre-release digital single "~ 20190706 ~" came out.
On April 16, the Star Maker 101 finale premiered. Members Momoka and Yubin placed 18th and 27th respectively on the show, therefore not making it to the debut lineup, unlike the other PHX Entertainment trainee Liu Min Wei.
On the following day, the group's first mini album was released along with the music video for the title track "25/8". Choreography videos for both the single and the b-side "Whoop Whoop" were released.
On June 14, PHX Japan announced that Cloud Aura would debut in Japan on July 6, with the Japanese version of "25/8" released as a digtal single. They also announced that they would've released their first Japanese single "CLOUD J : Chapter 1" on July 20.
On June 15 the pre-orders for the single opened, and from June 25 to July 2 concept photos for the single were released. On July 4, a teaser for the "25/8 (Japanese Ver.)" music video was uploaded to their YouTube channel, and it was later released on July 7.
On July 18 a teaser for the music video of "Pastel Colors" was uploaded to the group's YouTube channel, and the full music video was released on July 20, along with "CLOUD J : Chapter 1".
HeYun's departure, Momoka and Darin's hiatus (2022-2023)[]
On December 9, it was announced through Cloud Aura's official fan cafe that HeYun has parted ways with the group due to health reasons.
On December 11, media outlets reported that members Momoka and Darin have filed for an injunction to end their contract with PHX Entertainment, and on the same day some fans spotted Momoka at the Incheon International Airport. When stopped by some fans that asked her where she was going, she told them that she was leaving South Korea to go back to Japan, but that she promised to return soon.
On December 12, PHX Entertainment announced that both Momoka and Darin will go on an indefinite hiatus due to personal reasons.
Indefinite hiatus (2022-present)[]
On December 29, PHX Entertainment took over Cloud Aura's fan cafe and Twitter account to announce the group's indefinite hiatus, with the extreme discontent of fans. All the members of the group except for Kira have terminated their contracts with the company. The official statement reads so:
Hello. This is PHX Entertainment.
First of all, we would like to express our gratitude to fans who love and support Cloud Aura. We want to inform you of our official statement regarding Cloud Aura's group activities.
Cloud Aura, which has been working as a group with the love of their fans, will indefinitely suspend their activities as an ensemble. All the current and inactive members of Cloud Aura, with the exception of Kira, will end their contracts with the company.
We apologize to CLOUDiE for the sudden and shocking news, and we ask you to support the girls with their future career.
Thank you.
On June 20, Kira terminated her contract with PHX Entertainment and signed a contract with CMWENM.
