Cholpong Iridisova (Чольпоң Ірідісова), known as Cholpong (Чольпоң), is Kyrgyz singer and songwriter, member of BlackCherry (БлекЧері), girl group under Luna Kyrgyzstan.
Background[]
Cholpong was born on June 3, 2001 in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan as daughter of teacher and businessman. Because of her father's job, Cholpong had a lot opportunities to travel abroad and witness different cultures. Cholpong since being very young was in love with Europe, especially France, which inspired her to learn the language. As growing up, Cholpong was quicker catching up trends from the western world, giving her image of "cool" in school back in Kyrgyzstan, which made her popular, that give Cholpong an idea to become celebrity in future. Cholpong at age of 14 made a VK account, on which she was publishing vlogs and make up tutorials for girls her age. People were becoming her fans, attracted with her personality, confidence and unique style heavily inspired with European fashion and esthetics. Cholpong was gaining popularity very quickly, which encouraged her to try more things on her social media, such as cooking tutorials, shopping hauls and most importantly - singing. Cholpong's singing talent let her gather even more fans, which connected with newly-found passion to k-pop made people encourage her to try becoming an idol. Some time later Cholpong in one of her vlogs confirmed she triet to apply to unnamed k-pop company, but she failed. The misfortune didn't killed her determination and she kept on practicing and learning korean, to finally hear about local castings for Luna's kyrgyz branch and decide to try. Cholpong effortlessly passed the casting and became member of company's upcoming girl group. On April 8, 2021 Zuzu debuted as lead vocalist and face of the girl group BlackCherry (БлекЧері).
Career[]
Just like other members of her group, Cholpong is also a songwriter, she also manages group's all social media and supports their manager. Since October 18, 2021 Cholpong and two other members were on hiatus, because of being staff of korean-kyrgyz survival show - Arena of Hope: Royal Feast. Cholpong was show's host, together with TRØX's Jinsang. In January she returned to Bishkek.
