Choi Yara (최야라), also known as simply Yara, is a Korean-Japanese singer and dancer under SYSHOME. She serves as one of the vocalists and dancers of the unlimited member girl group SolSys and a former pre-debut member of SERENUM. She is also a former contestant on Awakening: Rebirth of Stars.
Early Life[]
Choi Yara was born as Choi Sarang in Saitama, Japan, to a Korean mother and a Japanese father. She later moved to Gwangju at the age of 8.
Career[]
2022-2023: SERENUM, Awakening: Rebirth of Stars[]
Yara was introduced as the fourth member of an upcoming pre-debut group under WVAVE (now known as SERENUM) on March 12, 2022. She was later re-introduced on April 16, 2022, after the group had rebranded.
On January 4, 2023, WVAVE announced that Yara, along with members Gahee and Lily, have suddenly departed from the agency by terminating their contracts as well as leaving the group. In the same statement, WVAVE announced that the group's debut has been postponed until the second quarter of 2023 and confirmed that SERENUM would be debuting as a 6-membered girl group.
On March 3, she was revealed to be competing on the show Awakening: Rebirth of Stars as an independent trainee. She would later be eliminated.
2024-present; SolSys[]
On April 12, she was announced as a member of SolSys. She made her first appearance as a member of the group in SOLRISE!'s second season.
