Miyazaki Chinami (宮﨑千奈美) is a Japanese singer & guitarist under Merge Studios. She is a current and founding member of the band Craft.
Early Life[]
Chinami was borned and raised in Suginami City, Japan. Chinami has been interested in pursuing music since she was a child. She would constantly sing around her home and make up little songs. In 2005, when the live action adaptation of popular manga series ‘NANA’ was released, it made Chinami want to get into music even more. Despite being a fictional character, she idolized Nana Osaki. Chinami then begged to get guitar lessons but her parents refused. In 2009 when Chinami was 15, she tried out for Morph Group and was accepted. She expressed her interest to learn guitar, and was given the resources to do so. A year later, Chinami pushed for her childhood, Ryuji, to try out for Morph as well so the two of them could possibly debut together and he agreed. She would attend and graduate from Tokyo Metropolitan Suginami Comprehensive High School during this time.
Career[]
Chinami debuted with the pop-punk band Craft as the main vocalist and rythmn guitarist in 2011. Chinami was often used on the covers of their albums, due to her being 'the face of the group'. She would also write lyrics for the group, same with all the members. While being offered a solo career, she has not branched out because she has stated she wouldn't fit a solo career and Craft is her family.
Personal Life[]
Chinami and fellow bandmate Ryuji are childhood friends. The two were neighbors growing up and attended all the same schools. Chinami pushed Ryuji to audition for Morph. She has an older sister named Chiharu, who she revealed works as a nurse. She mentioned her younger brother, Chikao, has an interest in voice acting. In 2018, she made her relationship public with independent music producer Abe Katsuo. In 2022, she announced she was engaged. In June of 2023, Chinami and her partner of five years got married in a private ceremony.
